    Audio-Technica Consumer ATH-A1000Z reviews

ATH-A1000Z Art Monitor Closed-Back Dynamic Headphones is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising I'm genuinely surprised by these headphones. My background include HD650s, X2s, T50RPMK3, THX00, K7XX, DT880/990 600. If you know any of those numbers or terms, then this review is for you. If not, I'll still be friendly. My only Audio Technicas were the M50Xs. Sound: These are amazing closed back headphones. Easy to run, not the ATH House sound I've come to hear from other reviews. They're supremely clear and have the soundstage of open back headphones. They're bright, but female vocals and classical instruments glow. This is the only reason you would focus on this set. Unlike the other headphones I've mentioned, these excel in this regards. Amp: I used a Creative X7 LE, but these don't need amping at all. Easy to power, doesn't open headroom or dynamics. Sounds the same basically. These are not colored at all and very true. Comfort: I've hated the wing suspension system. These are very comfortable and don't clamp hard at all. The pads do sweat a little, but that's expected. Overall, crystal clear and true to sound. A little bright, not sibilant and has a deep, concise bass. Very balanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound. Worthy upgrade from M50x's. Powering these cans with an FX Audio DAC/Amp. Delivers plenty of power thanks to these headphones low ohms'. Really enjoying these so far, a little tight so extended use with glasses can be uncomfortable. Sound quality is wonderful and with some breaking in the sound just improves with time. Using these for casual listening. An interesting pair of headphones and if you need a closed pair at around this price i'd pull the trigger on these.
