Enjoy 7.2-channel surround sound and wireless connectivity with your favorite speaker system and the Denon AVR-S920W 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver. It has Bluetooth, DLNA compatibility, and Apple AirPlay built-in for wireless connection to your compatible smart devices. The receiver outputs 90W per channel at 8 Ohms and features Audyssey MultEQ sound optimization to tailor the sound to your environment. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (the latter via future firmware upgrade) to create a more 3-dimensional sound space.
In addition to Bluetooth, DLNA, and AirPlay, the AVR-S920W has eight HDMI inputs and two outputs, which support 4K, HDR, 4:4:4 color, and ARC. It also has a USB port on the front for direct iPod connectivity. Built-in dual-band Wi-Fi will allow you to wirelessly connect to your computer or NAS for playback of your stored files.
For decades, movie surround soundtracks have been channel-based. Dolby's Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. Now, you can enjoy this same technology at home with the AVR-S920W, which features the ability to connect a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and two additional overhead speakers or two additional Dolby Atmos-certified up-firing speakers for an enhanced home theater experience. Along with Dolby Atmos decoding, the AVR-S920W also features Dolby TrueHD lossless decoding and other Dolby Digital technologies.
Like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X features object-based audio coding that lets the sound designer place sonic elements anywhere in the 3D acoustic soundspace and provides for overhead speakers to deliver an augmented surround sound experience. Along with DTS:X decoding, the AVR-S920W features DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and other DTS audio technologies. DTS:X will be enabled via a future firmware update; please see Denon's website for details.
HDMI 2.0a Connectivity Brings HDCP 2.2, 4K Ultra HD BT.2020, and HDR Compatibility

The AVR-S920W also features HDCP 2.2 compatibility, a requirement for 4K Ultra HD copy-protected content.
Quad-Core 32-Bit DSP Processor
Featuring a quad-core 32-bit DSP processor, the AVR-S920W is designed to easily handle multi-thread processing tasks, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding, Audyssey room acoustic correction, bass management, and DSP surround simulation. The DSP chip features four 300 MHz DSP cores that can process over one billion computations per second.
High-Resolution Audio Decoding
Enjoy enhanced audio fidelity with your favorite high-resolution audio tracks. The AVR-S920W features high-resolution decoding with multiple lossless file types including AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, and WAVE along with compatibility for 2.8/5.6 MHz DSD files (DSD is the high-resolution audio coding format of SACD).
Built-In Bluetooth & Wi-Fi
Featuring Bluetooth and dual-band (2.4 and 5 GHz) Wi-Fi wireless connectivity, the AVR-S920W is equipped with a dual-diversity antenna RF transceiver system for wireless streaming even in congested environments. Connect to the internet through your home Wi-Fi network or with a hard-wired connection via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port and enjoy your favorite tracks from popular streaming music services such as Pandora, Sirius XM, and Spotify Connect. You can also choose from thousands of internet radio stations around the world and enjoy music from virtually every genre. With AirPlay you can enjoy listening to your music tracks wirelessly from your iOS device. Additionally, the AVR-S920W is DLNA 1.5 certified for compatibility with your home Windows or Mac computer.
Denon 2016 AVR Remote App Compatible
Denon's app for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire will give you an enhanced level of command and control over your network-ready Denon A/V Receiver. The Queue management now makes it possible to browse your music library while listening to your favorite songs. Selected tracks (one or a whole album) can set to "Play Now", "Play Next", or "Add to end of the Queue", and more options are available. After a listening session, the Queue can get edited and saved as a playlist for later playback.
The app gives you full control of the receiver including access to its setup menu for detailed adjustments from your phones or tablets. Denon 2016 AVR Remote also gives you quick access to the receiver's status display, option menus, Denon Blu-ray player control, and online owner's manual for your convenience.
7-Channel Discrete Amplifier with Eco Mode
Featuring high-current discrete power output devices, the AVR-S920W is rated at a maximum of 165 watts per channel. There's also an Auto Eco mode that adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level as well as an on-screen Eco meter that lets you see the power consumption reduction in real time. For compatibility with a wide range of speakers, the AVR-S920W is equipped with low-impedance drive capability that provides operational stability with 4 ohm speakers.
Dual Subwoofer Outputs
The AVR-S920W features dual subwoofer outputs, which lets you connect two smaller subwoofers instead of a single larger sub to enjoy the benefits of response averaging by having two subs in different locations in the room. With dual subwoofers, deep bass is smoother and more detailed, minimizing the peaks and dips that often result with a single subwoofer setup.
Smart TV Connectivity
When you connect the AVR-S920W to your Smart TV you have the option of controlling the receiver via the TV's remote control, which lets you select an input, adjust the volume, and choose the surround sound mode.
Audyssey Bronze Built-In
The AVR-S920W features the Audyssey Bronze suite of DSP features, including MultEQ room acoustic measurement and DSP correction. Via the supplied measuring microphone and mic stand, Audyssey MultEQ measures all the speakers in your home theater during setup, including the subwoofer, and then generates multiple high-precision DSP room acoustic correction filters which, together, provide a smooth and natural tonal balance, regardless of the brand or model of the various speakers.
Audyssey Dynamic Volume features psycho-acoustic processing to deliver clear dialog and wide-range sound at reduced volume levels so you can enjoy enhanced clarity at whatever listening level you choose. Audyssey Dynamic EQ also features DSP processing to deliver full-range wide-band response even at reduced volume levels.
You can configure the AVR-S920W for a 7-channel home theater surround system, or you can choose to have a 5-channel surround system in the main room with the other two amplifier channels dedicated to drive separate stereo speakers in another room. Enjoy a surround sound movie in the home theater room while others can enjoy stereo sound from a different source in a second room at the same time.
Denon HEOS Link IP Control
Denon's HEOS whole-home audio system features advanced multi-room, multi-source audio streaming, and the AVR-S920W features IP control capability with the HEOS Link so you can control the receiver with the Denon HEOS app.
Quick Select Functions
There are four Quick Select function buttons on the front panel and the remote control. These let you choose your favorite sources and each one remembers your preferred sound mode for that source.
Simple Front-Panel Design
The front panel features dual control knobs for volume level and input selection. The graphical display features easy-to-understand icons that let you instantly see the source selected, volume level, and other important information.
