Denon AVR-X2300W overview

  • 1Description

Enjoy immersive multi-channel sound with the Denon AVR-X2300W 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver. It delivers up to 95W of power at 8 Ohms and features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility (via future firmware update) for object-based audio support. Built-in Bluetooth and AirPlay support allows the receiver to wirelessly stream music from compatible sources, such as smartphones and tablets.

Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity allows the AVR-X2300W to access a variety of Internet-based music sources like Pandora, SiriusXM, and vTuner Internet radio. It also supports DLNA content sharing when paired with your similarly equipped network-connected devices such as your computer. As an added convenience, you can download the free Denon 2016 AVR Remote App to control the receiver from your Android or iOS devices.

With eight HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, this receiver can act as a video switcher for your HD source components. It will pass through 3D and 4K signals and upscale non-UHD signals to near-4K quality for enhanced viewing of lower-resolution sources when paired with a 4K display. The receiver also has a USB port for accessing media stored on USB flash drives. Audyssey multipoint sound optimization will calibrate the receiver to your speakers and room setup for a tailored listening experience.

Note: Access to certain Internet-based content may require a subscription to a service.

High-Quality Sound

Discrete Amplification
For enhanced realism and dynamic range, the amplifier section features discrete power devices instead of integrated circuitry, allowing it to drive most speakers.
Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. The AVR-X2300W features the ability to connect a 7.2-channel surround sound speaker system with additional overhead speakers, or additional Dolby Atmos-certified up-firing speakers.
DTS:X brings the home theater experience to new heights with its immersive object-based audio technology, which removes the bounds of channels. The flexibility of objects allows for sound to be scaled large or small and moved around the room, leading to a richer, more immersive audio experience. DTS:X support will be enabled by a future firmware update, please see Denon's website for more information.
4K 60 Hz Support with HDMI 2.0a
The AVR-X2300W supports image processing for 4K 60p, 4:4:4, and 24-bit videos. By processing the video at the original resolution, this unit lets you enjoy flawless, high-definition picture quality.
HDCP 2.2 Support
The AVR-X2300W supports HDCP 2.2 copyright protection to allow pass-through of copyrighted HD content.
Analog Video Upscaling to HD and Near-4K
The AVR-X2300W is equipped with a 4K video upscaling function that allows standard-definition video to be output via HDMI at near-4K (3840 x 2160) resolution. This enables the device to be connected to a display using a single HDMI cable and produces high-definition images for nearly any video source.
ISFccc Certified
Certified by the Imaging Science Foundation, the AVR-X2300W features a suite of video calibration controls for use by an ISF technician along with ISF Day and ISF Night video modes.
8 HDMI Inputs, 2 HDMI Outputs
Having eight HDMI inputs enables connection to various HD devices such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, and HD video cameras. The second HDMI output will allow you to project two of the same image at the same time.
Apple AirPlay Support
Enjoy a wide variety of content including Internet radio and computer-stored files. AirPlay also lets you stream your music library from an iOS device or iTunes.
Playback of DSD and FLAC Files via USB and Networks
The receiver supports the playback of DSD (5.6 MHz) and FLAC (192 kHz) high-resolution audio files.
Bluetooth & Wi-Fi Connectivity
Featuring Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless streaming connectivity, the AVR-X2300W is equipped with a dual-antenna system for robust and error-free streaming even in congested urban environments. Connected to the Internet through your home Wi-Fi network (or with a hard-wired connection via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port), it allows you to enjoy your favorite tracks from streaming music services such as Pandora, Spotify Connect and SiriusXM. You can also choose from thousands of Internet radio stations from around the world, and enjoy music and talk entertainment of virtually every genre.
Denon 2016 AVR Remote App
The Denon 2016 AVR Remote App allows you to perform basic operations with an iOS or Android device (on the same network) such as turning the receiver on/off, controlling the volume, and switching the source.
With the AVR-X2300W it's possible to enjoy 5.1-channel surround in one room while another "zone" plays another source such as CD or streaming audio. You can simply connect a pair of stereo speakers to the multi-room amplified outputs or connect a separate stereo amp and speakers to the Zone 2 pre-outs, allowing full 7-channel surround sound in the main room with stereo in the second.
Dual Subwoofer Outputs
A single subwoofer can give an uneven bass response at the main listening position, with audible peaks and dips. The AVR-X2300W provides for two subwoofers; positioned in different locations, they will even out the low frequencies for more accurate bass anywhere in the listening area.
Energy-Saving Design
This receiver is equipped with an ECO Mode function that allows you to enjoy music and movies while reducing the power consumption during use. The auto-standby function automatically turns off the power supply when the unit is not in use, helping to reduce unnecessary power use.

Designed for Easy Operation

Setup Assistant Provides Easy-to-Follow Setup Instructions
Select the language when prompted, then follow the instructions displayed on the display to set up the speakers, network, and everything else that will be connected to the receiver.
Smart TV Connectivity
Using the HDMI CEC (consumer electronics control) functionality provided on some Smart TVs, it's possible to control the receiver with the TV's remote. Set the receiver's "HDMI control" to ON, choose the "Smart Menu" receiver control functions on the TV, and the Smart Menu home screen allows direct access to a range of receiver functions, including source and surround mode, the main setup menu, and the Quick Select "one-touch" presets.
Audyssey Silver
The AVR-X2300W the features Audyssey Silver suite of DSP functions, which includes MultEQ XT, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume. Audyssey MultEQ XT automatic room acoustic measurement and correction system uses the supplied microphone and a test-tone sequence to match your speakers to your room's acoustics, giving a smooth, natural tonal balance. The MultEQ XT system here provides greater filter precision for the main and satellite speakers, with eight times the resolution of the base MultEQ system, at up to 8 measurement locations to ensure the best sound for the whole family, not just one ideal "sweet spot." Audyssey Dynamic EQ uses psychoacoustic algorithms to continually adjust tonal balance to deliver full-range sound, even at lower volume levels; Audyssey Dynamic Volume smooths out those annoying volume jumps – especially from loud commercials – for an easier viewing experience.
Front-Panel USB Port
The front-panel USB port provides a digital connection from music from your iOS device while also charging it. Additionally, you can connect a USB drive and listen to files from MP3 all the way up to high-resolution DSD (2.8/5.6 MHz), and lossless FLAC (up to 24-bit/192 kHz).
Color-Coded, 4-Way Speaker Terminals
The 4-way speaker terminals handle a number of cable terminations, including banana plugs, and are color-coded for correct first-time hook-up; color-coded speaker cable labels are provided.
External Control and IP Control Capabilities
The AVR-X2300W can be set up and operated by a home computer on the network via IP control, either via wired LAN connection or Wi-Fi, and also features Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) certification for quick and easy integration with Control4 home automation equipment. For direct connection to external home automation and control equipment, it's also equipped with an RS-232C serial port. For simpler integrated control setups, the AVR-X2300W features an IR (infrared) remote control input on the rear panel, allowing remote control compatibility with other components in your home theater system.
Graphical User Interface
The integrated GUI is designed to improve operation.

    Denon AVR-X2300W reviews

    AVR-X2300W 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No preout for the USA market I'm a denon user since long time ago. I bought this unit and I'm happy, but the clean sound is not enough if I want consider that for listen CD with my quad22l. I decided to buy one pma1500 denon, but surprise!!! That amplifier doesn't have any pre out!!! I read the spec and everything in the Italian denon site and there was! Then I checked in the us website and there was not the same spec! Same name, same model but different spec! Why??? I'm for the second time disappointed with Denon. The first was 20years ago when I discovered instead the fuse for save the unit one solid metal piece. And now this difference between Europe and USA. I'm happy with the finish and quality and I want to stay with Denon, but I'm disappointed for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature packed AVR at great price point Replaced a aged16 yr old Sony Dream System digital amp and dvd player combo with this unit. This unit has ample HDMI switching capability, internet radio, ATMOS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi-you name it! Love watching HD cable broadcasts and Netflix pumped through this amp. The sound field it creates is very immersive. Only problem I had was an electronic hum coming through the speakers which I tracked down to a Powerline adapter plugged in nearby. Once disconnected the hum was eliminated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overrated I’ve had my Denon in command AVR-x2300W for less than two years, and it has just stop working. I’m extremely disappointed with the performance and overall quality of this unit. I’ve owed several theater systems, and I’ve never had issues with a high dollar unit such as this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value at full price, Awesome deal at closeout. This was last year's model when I bought it to replace an older HK that died. The Audyssey Silver setup does wonders and the system brought new life to my meager speakers. The display is big enough to see across the room, unlike a Marantz. Airplay is nice, too, but I haven't used it much. Highly recommended
