This B&H Kit combines the Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core LGA 1151 Processor with an MSI Z170A-G45 Gaming LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard. This sixth generation processor is built using Skylake architecture and features a base frequency of 4.0 GHz, a maximum turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz, 8MB of Intel Smart Cache, and four cores with eight threads in an LGA 1151 socket. This processor is compatible with MSI's Z170A-G45 Gaming Motherboard, which supports the LGA 1151 socket and Intel's Z170 chipset. This motherboard will fit in cases that have an ATX form factor and also has six SATA III connectors, two SATA Express connectors, two M.2 connectors, three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, and four PCIe 3.0 x1 slots. Both the processor and motherboard will support up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR4-3600 (OC) memory, with each of the four slots on the Z170A-G45 compatible with 16GB memory modules.

    The Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor from Intel is the sixth generation of the Core i7 product line that is now built using Skylake architecture. This processor features a base frequency of 4.0 GHz and, as with many Skylake technologies, it comes with features such as Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, Hyper-Threading, and vPro. With Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, the maximum clock rate this processor can achieve is 4.2 GHz. Additionally, this processor also features four cores with eight threads in a FCLGA1151 socket and has 8MB of Intel Smart Cache memory. Having four cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the eight threads allow applications to complete tasks sooner by working in parallel. This processor also supports up to 64GB of DDR4-2133/1866 MHz and DDR3L 1600/1333 MHz RAM, has integrated Intel HD Graphics 530, and has SSE 4.1/4.2 & AVX 2.0 Extensions, as well as AES New Instructions.

    This Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core processor is well suited for users who are interested in general-use tasks, such as Internet browsing, checking E-mail, document creation and editing, and multimedia playback, as well as more intensive tasks that are able to benefit from overclocking. This processor is also unlocked, meaning that it can be overclocked past its maximum turbo frequency and since this is the "K" version of this processor, it can be overclocked to run faster than the non-K version. However, overclocking past the maximum turbo frequency is not recommended. Not only will it cause the processor to run much hotter, it will also void the limited 3-year warranty.
