Blending fast performance with long reach, the Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III from Sony is a versatile digital camera optimized for multimedia image-makers working in a broad variety of situations. Featuring a large 20.1MP 1" Exmor RS CMOS sensor, which utilizes both back-illuminated and stacked technologies, a high degree of image quality can be attained, with notable clarity, reduced noise, and sensitivity to ISO 12800. The sensor's design also integrates a dedicated DRAM chip to provide faster readout speeds that, when combined with the BIONZ X image processor, avail fast continuous shooting up to 14 fps. This also helps to reduce unwanted distortion caused by rolling shutter, and permits recording UHD 4K30 video internally, as well as slow motion Full HD 1080p video at 960 fps. Equally as impressive as the imaging capabilities, the RX10 III is also characterized by its 25x Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* zoom lens, which spans an impressive 24-600mm equivalent focal length range and uses Optical SteadyShot image stabilization to minimize the effects of camera shake. Its optical design incorporates eight extra-low dispersion elements and six aspherical elements to control a variety of aberrations throughout the zoom range, and its f/2.4-4 maximum aperture range benefits working in low-light conditions. Mixing speed and reach, the RX10 III is well-suited to the photographer or videographer looking for the all-in-one camera to handle a variety of working situations.

question
Does a battery charger come with the camera?
A stand-alone battery charger is not included with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III Digital Camera. The camera comes with a Micro USB Cable and an AC adapter. As indicated on page 12-14 of the instruction manual, to charge the battery in the camera via a household AC outlet, you would connect the Micro USB cable to the camera and the AC adapter, then connect the AC adapter to the wall socket to charge the camera, which takes approximately 150 minutes. You may also connect the camera directly to your computer via the Micro USB cable to charge the camera via the computer's USB outlet. If you prefer a stand-alone battery charger, you would have to purchase the Sony BC-TRW W Series Battery Charger (Black), B&H # SOBCTRW, separately.

question
Can anyone please advise me as to this particular camera's buffer and slowdown if any as it saves images to the sd card? My experience with some past Sony p and s cameras in the was not good when it came to this and the fact that the buffer would fill so quickly and the length of time you waited until it cleared and you could start shooting again was unacceptable to me.
Shooting stills at the largest size will fill the buffer. You will not be able to shoot 4K video immediately.

question
Should you buy this camera as an upgrade to amateur/professional photography?
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III is very new and is only in Pre-order but from the specifications it is a very high level point and shoot camera. It is a good start. Some features that you might need as you grow more professional can only be gotten from a Mirrorless or DSLR camera. So for future work you most likely will grow on to one of those other types of cameras.

question
Is focusing an issue indoors, at longer lengths?
While focusing (with most all cameras) will mainly depend on the focal length you are using, the amount of light available, and the amount of contrast on your subject, the specifications for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III Digital Camera lists the minimum focus distance is 1.18 (3 cm) - Infinity at the widest setting and 2.36' (72 cm) - Infinity at the telephoto setting. As long as there is enough light and contrast and you are within the focusing distances listed above, your camera should be able to focus.

question
Can the RX10M3 trigger the HVL-F43M unit wirelessly for off camera flash use? If so, what is the range and is there any lag? If not, does the HVL-F43M have a cable input jack? Thanks.
To trigger the Sony HVL-F43M Flash wirelessly off-camera, you would need a flash on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III Digital Camera's hot shoe that can be used as a master flash to trigger the off-camera flash. The camera cannot trigger the Sony HVL-F43M Flash by itself; a master flash is needed for this purpose. The Sony HVL-F20M External Flash, B&H # SOHVLF20M, is the most economical flash that may be used as a wireless TTL controller/master flash.
