BML Bone Phalanx from Spitfire Audio is part of The British Modular Library, an ongoing project to provide composers with the ability to add fine detail and musical expression to their compositions. This volume features a six-piece trombone ensemble, with the three tenor, two bass, and one contrabass trombones seated exactly in situ, and provides the unmistakable sound of a large array of brass, slides, and bells belting it in unison. Moreover, when combined with other BML modules or the Albion range, everything slots together like an orchestral jigsaw puzzle.

The library features multiple round robins, dynamic layers, and under-the-bonnet scripting to deliver intuitive performance patches out of the box, including one that allows for playing at any speed and with the ability to pull off runs (without any keyswitching/CCing), and another experimental fanfare patch. The Ostinatum section of the instrument is not quite an arpeggiator, nor a sequencer, but a device that allows for building complex patterns dependent on what's being played. The results can be tantalizing tension beds, or "cheeky" multi-tonguing effects.

This is a self-contained library that features a specially curated set of articulations for this size of section. Bone Phalanx is designed to be bold and brash, for composers wanting an epic edge. When combined with the trumpet and horn phalanx, the library provides everything needed to make epic and fierce music ideal for blockbuster-style scores and AAA games releases.

Additionally, the samples are presented with numerous microphone positions which can be mixed and blended together to fit a current application, and also automated for dramatic shifts in focus and depth. A full version of KONTAKT 5 is required to utilize this sample library.
