Olafur Arnalds Evolutions from Spitfire Audio is an original and inspiring set of tools, recorded in Berlin, Germany using the talents of some true independent thinkers who are shining a new light on classical European instruments. How to play them, use them, abuse them and record and process them with a totally fresh approach.

A select quartet of unique string players performed according to Olafur Arnalds' very individualistic aesthetic, aided by co-collaborator Viktor Orri Árnason alongside the talents of cellist Sebastian Selke. The net result is a beautiful, if not haunting selection of tools that reward the user with delightful and refreshing unpredictability.

The software interfaces features the Evo Grid, a matrix that allows for constant experimentation, and delivers the above-mentioned unpredictability often using only one or two clicks. Forty-eight Evos can be panned and tweaked for perfect blending, three modulators and effects turned on or off, and microphone positions mixed, all from the front panel.
