The Genustech Production Matte Box Complete Kit is designed for all lenses from 52 to 114mm inclusive. It is designed to work with the larger sensor cameras as well as broadcast and film cameras. The matte box system can be used as a clip-on matte box, or you can mount it onto 15mm LWS rods with the included rod bracket. The matte box hood features an attached swing-away bracket for use when rod mounted, and a removable COAR (clamp-on adapter ring) enables you to go from rod-mounted to clip-on.

An included top flag and left/right side flags help protect your lens from flare. The production matte box features two stages—the front stage is fixed and the rear stage rotates 360° and can be locked to a set position. The filter stages accept 5.65 x 5.65" filter trays, which can also accept 4 x 4" filters.

Can the clip-on feature be mounted directly onto a Canon cine lens?

Canon makes several cine lenses so the answer is dependent on which one you are interested in. We can say that for the Canon CN-E prime lenses that they all have a consistent front of 114mm. This is a cine standard that is followed by many lens makers. The Genustech Production Matte Box Complete Kit B&H # GEGPMBKIT will clip right on directly.

I want to use my Cordvision Cine Rings with this matte box. They have a 77mm thread, and 80mm outside diameter. Is there a 80mm clamp on ring for the Genustech Production Matte Box?

Genustech does not offer an 80mm clamp-on adapter ring for the Genustech Production Matte Box Complete Kit; however, the included 77mm step-up ring will screw onto a 77mm filter thread.

That depends on the lenses being used. If you are using lenses with the GH5 with an outside diameter between 52 to 114mm it will work. This kit also includes step up rings that go from 52, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82 to 82mm each.
