  • 1Description

The blue T-005X Aluminum Tripod with C-10S Ball Head from Sirui is a compact, lightweight, and stylish tripod with included head. With upward-folding legs, it collapses to just 12.2" with the head attached and weighs just 2.3 lb. Supporting loads up to 8.8 lb, this support is capable of holding DSLR cameras with lightweight lenses and is ideal for compact and mirrorless cameras and camcorders.

The T-005X features twist locks for easy setup and each leg has and automatic leg-angle lock mechanism for speed and convenience. A removable center column allows for table-top and low angle shooting as low as 4.1" with the ball head. When fully extended, the tripod reaches a maximum height of 54" with the head attached.

The C-10S is an extremely capable ball head, its separate knobs for pan and tilt adjustments enable the user to perform tasks such as panoramic photography while keeping the tilt locked. An Arca-type compatible quick release plate is included, as is a soft carrying case and a tool set.

A removable center column allows for table-top and low angle shooting.
Three leg-angle positions mean each leg can be set independently for use on uneven terrain.

For speed and convenience, each leg has an automatic leg-angle lock mechanism
Well-designed padded traveling bag with shoulder strap and tools included

    Sirui T005BX reviews

T-005X Aluminum Tripod with C-10S Ball Head (Blue) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nifty little tripod I needed a compact, very light tripod to carry while hiking. The Sirui T-005X certainly fits that role. I like that you can get very close to the ground for macro shots. The angle of the legs is adjustable as well as their height. It's really very versatile. The trade off for light weight is stability. You will want to trigger the camera with a remote or self-timer. Windy conditions would be a challenge, but there is a hook to attach a weight like a camera bag or such. Everything in photography is a trade off. I can't lug a heavy tripod while hiking. I avoid hiking when winds are blasting anyway. The Sirui matches my requirements well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect travel tripod for mirrorless owners I recently took the plunge on this tripod after watching three million reviews of the current travel sized options. Most were heavier, longer, finicky, plastic, or triple the cost. Did Sirui have to make sacrifices to get down to this size? Absolutely, but most of them are worth it for me. The only reason to buy this is if you need to pack light, but it's still great. Let's start with the cons because there are few. If you remove the center mast and attach the ballhead or camera directly to the legs the tripod cannot be folded up to it's amazingly compact size. You can fold the legs down instead and deal with the extra height. The bottom most extension is pencil thin and while it feels pretty solid fully extended I wouldn't get too rough with it. The ballhead doesn't have a level, my camera does but this may be an issue for others. On to the pros. I bought this along with a small travel bag with no internal space for a tripod, this fits in the water bottle holder and is barely taller than the entire bag! If your bag is big enough for a long telephoto you could easily hide this insde. The center mast is removable but very solidly mounted. I was almost set on getting a Vanguard with a swingout mast but it sacrificed strength for compactness. With a lightweight mirrorless I don't have to worry as much about stability but this seemed like the safest of all the travel options. Everything is machined well with tight tolerances, nothing feels loose or sloppy even fully extended. I was in aerospace manufacturing so I feel this compliment holds some weight. The ballhead is worth every penny and more, this is the new upgrade with a safety stop which has already saved my camera once. The three position legs take some getting used to but once you do it's very quick, I always push the legs down before trying to adjust to take the pressure off the hinges

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for travel Bought this to travel as I wanted something light enough to carry, though strong enough to support my heavy Nikon DLSR. Its fold up legs make it easy to stow in my camera backpack. A great buy!! Shipped free to Canada and delivered in 5 days.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this product from another vendor and am unhappy both with that decision and with the tripod. I should have known better. The tripod is EXACTLY as the website photos show. The center column you see pictured in the extended position is there permanently... there is no way to lower it. The 4 section legs are very thin and the screw type section release(s) continually require tightening. The literature says the Chinese manufacturer uses some proprietary technology to make the aluminum lighter but stronger; there is no way I am going to trust my D500 on what feels like a flimsy device. Oh, and the provided camera mount is half the size of a typical one Pros: The tripod folds up very compactly, the red color is a standout, it comes with a nifty bag and strap and it has a weight hook below the center column. The cons, however, far outweigh these. If you have a lightweight non DSLR this might be ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great travel tripod Very solid & quality construction. Folds up into a small compact size. Particularly like the wide range of heights I can achieve with the tripod, i.e. really low shots to high shots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight travel tripod Great lightweight travel tripod although does require weight to keep it steady (bag with included shackle) in windy conditions. Not disappointed at all in my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good, functional and sturdy tripod. I use this tripod to support a Plein air painting easel. Weight therefore is important. And the tripod is light, and sturdy. I have high hopes for this tripod when I test it our on a painting trip. Once I figured out how to use it and the release mechanism, I was quite happy with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and easy to set up quickly I purchased this product for hiking in Alaska. It was easy to set up quickly in the rain or on a glacier. It was easy to carry in my day pack.
