Sirui C-10S overview

  • 1Description

The Sirui C-10S Ball Head is a sturdy and compact tripod head with separate control knobs for pan and tilt, plus a safety-button equipped Arca-type compatible clamp for the included quick release plate. The head features a wide range of movement including a 90° tilt for portrait orientation and a separate 360° pan lock for panoramic photography. At just 3.3" tall and only 0.5 lb, the compact design has been engineered to match with 0 and 1 series tripods in both size and weight.

Sirui's unique locking mechanism design allows the C-10S to support up to 28.7 lb despite its compact size. The redesigned Arca-type quick release clamp features a secondary safety-release button that prevents any inadvertent disengagement of the camera/plate from the clamp, thereby adding to the head's overall security and stability.

The C-10S's dual-control design allows the user to exercise extremely fine control over the orientation of their camera. Pan, for instance, can be adjusted while the tilt stays locked, for precise panoramas, or pan can be locked while only the ball joint is in use.

In regards to construction, the C-10S is machined from strong aluminum alloy and has been anodized with an oxidation treatment that ensures a durable, high-quality finish. Additionally, all three of the C-10S's control knobs are also constructed from aluminum with a knurled finish that provides wear-resistance and a solid grip.

    Sirui C-10S reviews

C-10S Ball Head is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from small but powerfull I bought this for my Olympus mirrorless camera. It is light weight but very ruggard and smooth to operate. I like the safty feature of the spring loaded detent pin on the clamp as opposed to the standard safty pins found on many arca plates. This ball head will even support a full frame dslr in a pinch (I have mounted my Nikon D700 with a 24-70 2.8 lens) and it will hold while at an angle; although I had to tighten down quite a bit. I would use a higher rated ball head for full frame dslr on a daily basis. For mirrorless cameras with any lens - this is a fantastic piece of equipment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for the price I got this head as a replacement for the head that came with a MeFoto A0320 Day Trip tripod. The original head needed an undersized Arca plate and did not fit the standard-sized custom plates on any of my cameras. This head is a perfect replacement and works very well. The construction is solid and it is a perfect fit for this small tripod, which still folds up to the head as-designed. I have used it with my mirrorless camera on a trip where weight was limited and it was very solid. Highly recommended if size and weight are a major issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for my purposes I bought my first Sirui tripod (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1244081-REG/sirui_sut024x_t_024x_traveler_light_series.html) several years ago and fell in love with it. Sturdy enough for my Sony NEX-7 with a long lens, it's been in my backpack on many occasions. Recently, I purchased a Sirui P-204 monopod for an upcoming trip. I decided to get a small ball head for it both for portrait shots as well as having a quick-release mount. I enjoyed the C-10S ball head on my other tripod, so I ordered one for the monopod. Absolutely fabulous. It works as described, is light, small, and durable. If size and weight are your needs, this head will do well. The only drawback is that it does not have a bubble level. I use the grid in my camera display anyway, so it's not a deal breaker for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tiny little beast. I already owned the Sirui K-10X, a relatively small but very competent ball head, especially for the price. I was picking up a used monopod and didn't want to have to swap heads all the time so I grabbed the c-10s, almost on a whim. I am using this with a prosumer Canon T6s with a wide range of lenses. In general I am using this tiny ballhead for my smaller lenses, but I have even used it with the Bigma, the Sigma 50-500mm beast and it held up. I wouldn't want to do that all the time, but if you need a super-light ball head, well made and generally smooth, you can't beat this little beast. One note, the plate/mount is even smaller than usual, which means the item pictured is probably much smaller than you think! I am very impressed with the quality of Sirui products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bal head for my needs This product is small but is perfect for my application. It has an Arca compatible plate that works well with the L-bracket on my Fuji X-T10. Operation of the knobs is smooth and this gem has a separate knob to control the panning action, recommended for those fond of doing panoramic shots. This mighty-mite of a ball head can carry a load much, much heavier than my setup, an x-T10 with 18-55mm zoom lens. Can't wait to try it out in one of my travels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective clamp design barely holds Arca plates in place I really wanted to like this ball head, but it has one fatal flaw. The clamp next to the ball tension knob is undersized, such that it is not as tall as the other clamp. As a result, it barely holds an Arca-compatible plate (including the stock plate that comes with it). Even with the tension knob fully tightened, I can pop out my camera out of the ball head by hand with relatively little force. Please see the attached photo which highlights the issue. As much as it looks not fully tightened, it was definitely tightened as much as possible. Compared to the product photos on B&H, it looks like the clamp on the one I received is too short. I was looking for a ball head that is smaller and lighter than my Really Right Stuff BH-40, so I'm returning this and getting the BH-25 ball head instead.
