Lensbaby Twist 60 Optic with Straight Body Overview

Draw attention to your subject by creating a smooth subtle swirl to your edges with the Lensbaby Fixed Body with Twist 60 Optic available here with a Nikon F mount. This optic is compatible with the Optic Swap System and performs best when used with the included straight body. This full-frame 60mm f/2.5 lens features an internal 12-blade diaphragm for smooth out-of-focus areas. You can manually change the aperture from f/2.5 to f/22 utilizing the dial on the front of the lens and you can manually focus on subjects as close as 18".

When shooting at a wider aperture, the Twist 60's swirled effect places more emphasis on your centered subject in full focus. As you stop down, the center area gets larger allowing you to bring more of your image into exact focus. The Twist 60 offers 46mm front threads for any filters you would like to use to further enhance your image.

The Twist 60 works best and is recommended for use with full frame cameras. Much of the swirled blur gets lost when using the optic with an APS-C sensor.

question

Will this lens with with a nikon d5300?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Twist 60 was designed for full-frame cameras. Technically the Twist 60 will work on your camera model but a lot of the effect will be cropped out. Here is a comparison of a Twist 60 photograph on a full-frame and a crop sensor camera: http://lensbaby.com/twist-60-full-frame-vs-crop-sensor/.

question

I have a Nikon 7100. I see that it says works best with a full frame, obviously my 7100 is a crop sensor. Will this still work? Is it worth it? I either want to buy this and a 35 or a 50. If it's not worth it on a crop senor I'm going to buy an 80.
Asked by: Jenny H.
Yes, it will work, but because this lens projects a full frame image circle and an APS-C sensor only sees a cropped portion inside that image circle, most of the swirly bokeh effect will be cropped out.

Asked by: Eugene J.
I use it on a Nikon dF set to aperture control (manual focus) The rangefinder works well and no metering problems.
