Ultrasone Go overview

  • 1Description

Featuring the patented S-Logic Natural Surround Sound, the Go Closed-Back Foldable Headphones from Ultrasone are designed for audiophiles who enjoy listening to music and movies while on the go. Emphasis is placed on high-fidelity sound reproduction, comfort and style. Optimized for mobility, these headphones are built to be lightweight at 4.6 oz, and comfortable with protein-leather earpads and adjustable headband. Both earcups fold neatly to occupy minimum space for ease of transport and storage. With low 32-Ohm impedance, these headphones efficiently reproduce music at high volume, even from sources with low output such as iPods, tablets and smartphones.

S-Logic technology delivers a natural surround sound which produces the effect of listening to speakers rather than headphones. It also generates lower sound pressure level than traditional headphones, while achieving the same perceived loudness. This can potentially reduce hearing damage and facilitate fatigue-free listening.

The detachable 3.7' cable comes equipped with inline remote and microphone, making it possible to answer calls and revert to playing back music from where you left off. A transport case is included.

High-Fidelity Sound
S-Logic Plus technology utilizes a decentralized driver to send music around the ear, not just into it. The sound is projected onto the surface of the outer ear rather than the inner ear directly, providing the same loudness sensation as other headphones but with a reduction of sound pressure level by up to 40% (3-4 dB). This may reduce the risk of hearing damage, and contributes to fatigue-free listening.
The protein-leather earpads and the adjustable headband provide a snug and stable fit, allowing for a comfortable listening experience even for long periods of time.
The earcups' black-and-silver design features aluminum plaques and a stylish diamond-cut logo.

    Ultrasone Go reviews

Go Closed-Back Foldable Headphones is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Muddy sound -- not worth it even at a sale price These headphones just plain lack something sonically. The low end comes through fine (eg, drums on a Brubeck piece), but the mids and highs are just muddy and lack presence. They also require pumping up the volume to get any sound out of them compared to most other headphones. Also, the ear pieces are rather small. On the positive side, the headphones are comfortable, and the ear pieces swivel to lay flat. A cloth carrying bag is included. I purchased this item on sale, but there are better cans for the price -- even in the discounted price range. Handmade by little Bavarian gnomes or not, I will most likely return these headphones.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Muddy sound; tight swivel function These headphones have a moderately accentuated bottom end and an overall muddy sound. They are probably OK for monitoring and doing sound checks, but I would not recommend them for critical listening or for music unless just on the go. They are probably worth the discounted price but not the full list price of $130. They do swivel to sit flat on the chest when worn around the neck, but they are fairly tight around the neck when done so, and the swivel function is pretty tight. I found better luck with Sony MDR-ZX600 headphones for this sort of use in monitoring audio on a video shoot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for price ( paid $50 ) During last several years I listened to Pioneer headphones ( don't remember model ), AKG Q460, some very old Panasonic and Beats Solo ( don't have them anymore ). By the quality of sound, the winner are Pioneer, the loser beats are Beats definitely, for tin-canny sound. Panasonic are really old and muffle bass and high. So these phones are about the same quality as AKG ones: not very elevated bass, quite clear middle and little metallic high. Classic music is good in these, classic rock too. I did not understand what is Natural Surraund means - thing which promoted with these headphones, I did not notice any. From construction side the winner is Panasonic, which is bullet proof. Next is Beats, which has good quality materials, and very sturdy. AKG is loser here, made from cheap plastic, which cracked already at the place where cable connected. These phones looks very sturdy, but ... I do not know, may be it is assembly quality issue, they are not ideal. They have replaceable cable, and I had to replace it, because the original one was too lose and the signal disappears from right can time after time. The aluminium finish is shiny and cool, but very scratchy. Do not see any other issues, materials used are good and does not look cheap. From price side: these headphones are second after AKG ( paid 40 for AKG and 50 for these ). Conclusion : very good phones for their price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never buy it From a company that focuses on headphones only, I expected to have a great sound in beautiful shape. Well, it was too disappointing: sound is average, ears start aching if you wear for more than 1-2 hours (as it's too tight), weak construction- left holding side broke after 2-3 uses.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If they weren't free, I'd ask for a refund. If these weren't free with the order I placed, I would be asking for my money back. They sound muffled and just horrible.
