    WD WDBBCL0080JBK-NESN reviews

    My Cloud PR2100 8TB 2-Bay NAS Server (2 x 4TB) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit for Plex Server!! I got this to use solely as a Plex server, and it does not disappoint! The unit is fast, silent, no glitches, and easy to use! B&H got it to me quickly, and well packaged to keep it safe from harm in travel. It's in a RAID 1 configuration, so double the amount of hard drive space you need. If your need 4GB, get the 8GB because you'll only have 4GB of usable space, but your stuff will be mirrored for backup peace of mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit. This is my second NAS server I also have the EX2 series at home. So far it runs pretty much like the EX2 model. Setup can be challenging depending on your computer's configuration, but in most cases it's pretty straight forward for an slightly above average user.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK but not perfect for a "PRO" model Unit comes set as RAID. Raid is pretty much useless so the first thing is to switch to JBOD and just use the disks as you would use any disks and use all the space. Setting up an admin user is easy. Logging in as the admin user is not secure ie HTTPS. Firefox thinks there is a certificate issue and you have to tell it to ignore. You would think the admin login would be secure in this day of hacking. I am using this device as a network drive that everyone on my network can access. Its mainly for backup and file share. Because of the crazy OS running this drive there is a problem with file permissions. Turns out that doing a WIN disk image to this drive makes it inaccessible when it comes time to recover because you cannot mount the image file from a PC. Acronis file types seem to open OK and will probably work but I am not sure if it will show up as a drive when booting from an acronis boot disk after a major crash. I need to try this. If you just want to store files for sharing between PC's this will do it. The file transfer speed is pretty good but get the latest ethernet drivers for your PCs. Bonding the two ethernet ports does nothing for transfer speed. One side is always idle. However if one side fails the other side works. After doing settings and various adjustments I decided to reboot the drive. This takes a very very long time and I would not recommend doing it unless something is not working. For the price I paid ($700) for this device I would have expected it to perform its tasks much better. After all it is the 'PRO' model. I don't use this as a media server so I cannot comment on this capability. I may not have purchased this drive if I had known some of the short comings. I'm stuck with it now I'll make the best of it.
