    My Cloud PR4100 24TB 4-Bay NAS Server (4 x 6TB) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from still early but it is really promising I bought the PR4100 because it had a lot of storage and it looked pretty powerful and so far it is. I'm still going through a good learning curve with it but that is for the more complicating parts of it. I am still moving photos and video to it and that is taking some time. I have created a backup section for our phones, so no more 5g limit that is absolutely wonderful. I did set it up with the duel core wires so that should not be a choke point and actually it is pretty quick, much faster than what I was using before

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Not Work With Mac High Sierra! After struggling with the PR4100 for a couple of weeks, WD's support staff finally admitted that if you need multiple shares, you can not use the product to sync PCs and Macs due to a software defect that prevents you specifying exactly which folders you would like to have synced. This is due to different default folder naming between operating systems. When attempting to configure this simple functionality via High Sierra/Mac (e.g. so that the Mac's "Pictures" folder will sync with a Windows "My Pictures" folder), all Mac folders remain grayed out and unavailable. See WD case number 12943525 for details. Unfortunately, WD is unable to tell me when the issue will be corrected, and they won't extend the free product configuration support warranty period. Therefore, I have no option other than to return the product and purchase a solution from a competing manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and simple to use with cloud access. I had the NAS server for about a month. Out of the box it comes configured RAID 5. It boots up fast and the setup through mycloud.com is very fast and easy. The first thing it did was to updated the firmware. I had it up and running in a matter of minutes. A RAID 5 configuration gave me about 17.9TB of empty storage capacity. I connect to the server using 1Gb Ethernet switch and compatible cables. The writing and reading is about 10% faster than what I get from my fusion 7200RPM hard drive. I get on average 110MB/s speeds in both directions. Obviously, I'm limited by the Ethernet connection. So far I'm streaming just music from it. I have a Sonos system which was able to connect very quickly and reliably. I have not tried streaming movies, PLEX, etc. The server comes with several apps installed or available. I'm using Dropbox app to mirror the content and I'm struggling with Amazon S3 app. The issues are not related to PR4100, more related to Amazon services. After some help from the WD tech support, whom by the way responded within 24h with a lot of information, I was able to get the S3 going but Amazon has all kind of issues. The NAS comes with apps to host or develop your own website. I haven't tried it yet but it's very interesting. Very easy to create user accounts. The cherry on the cake is the cloud/remote access. You can access any file from a remote computer or mobile phone. On the phone you can play music or view pictures. Works very well and super fast. I'm very impressed by this feature. I was on a trip outside US and needed a Word file from the server, i downloaded it in a jiffy, edited and uploaded it back to the server without any hiccups. Of course, out of the box the cloud service is not enabled so you have to create accounts and enable the service. The server software is simple, and rather easy to use. I would give it a 9 out of 10. So far I went through 2 power failures. It recovered quickly and without issues,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this unit again I am using this unit to back up my photo library. I have used another manufacturer's units up until this unit and have to say the setup is far simpler. Unlike the competitor you don't need an advanced degree in IT to use it. Is very user friendly. Will need a drive to go down before the real test but so far very good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny I have dumped all my music, movies onto this NAS and it has barely made a dent in it. Running raid 5 knocks it down to about 17tb but provides data protection. Could not be happier with the PR4100 and would recommend it for anyone who uses plex or has a huge music/movie library.
