    WD WDBNFA0000NBK-NESN Reviews

My Cloud PR4100 4-Bay NAS Enclosure is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Price vs Feature NAS on the market. Quad Core power This is my favorite nas to date. It runs all Plex flawlessly, install was very simple. Drive setup and raid setup very easy. This has Hardware raid, far more stable then other companies NAS boxes. Best feature I have found is the security camera software add on. I have roelink camera installed around my house, this software on the NAS found and connected to all and started recording motion with very minimal setup. High recommend can't beat the feature vs cost on this guy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will not recommend this NAS This product is not ready for prime time. Crashes very often. Doesn't work with any properly formatted USB external drive. Network connection keeps dropping all the time. Always reporting of power failure in power line one, when actually 1 power supply unit was provided.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am glad i jumped into NAS with this product The product is straight forward as a basic NAS. You have to upgrade the firmware out of the box or you will run into some issues. Transfer from Pc to the nas is about 100MB per second average if you are on a lan connection. Very happy with the speed and remote access via cloud.com

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what one would expect We originally purchased the PR4100 to make serving files and work in general easier in our small office. Everyone should be able to have access to some items, others to all. Setup: The documentation is terrible at best. Should you try to set up the system as a 2x2 raid, You will have to insert the HDs in pairs. There is no way to achieve this through the Servers setup screen. While most services available are turned off in our array, they will still show as ON in the status screen. Which information is correct is impossible to determine. It is not possible to set locations for the installable software/features. When activating certain features, they auto-activate dependencies. These are not automatically included in the screen you may be currently on. One has to search for them. Turning a feature off leaves the dependencies on... Use: The software that may be downloaded from WD to upload files and/or sync your computer does not function on OSX El Capitan. WD states that it is compatible. It is not. The raid is not searchable on OSX nor the web or app. The whole interface is extremely difficult to figure out (e.g.: the power schedule does not tell you wether selecting a time will turn the system on or off) The inability to set permissions on a per file bases, create subfolders (WD calls them Shares) etc. requires one to come up with a different file structure than you may already use. Compatibility: The web interface as well as the iOS app are useless. One can neither search nor (in gallery view) select or edit items. iTunes does play songs from the stored library but will not allow changes unless one makes it ones default library. This is caused by the permission system. PLEX may be installed but not updated via the service. Updates must be pushed via PR4100 Overall: Due to the lack of comparison to other systems we will give this one a rating of 3 stars. The rating is based on issues that may be resolved by future software updates. As of now his system is not really recommended. We shall be attempting to edit video footage on the PR4100 in the future and may update this review. p.s.: The installable Apps include mostly trials. One can not choose install locations.
