  • 1Description

With its 360° hinge design, the natural silver 15.6" ENVY 15-u499nr x360 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook from HP allows you to fold the 15.6" touchscreen a full 360°, allowing it to be used in stand, tablet, notebook, or tent mode. Working with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7-6500U processor and 8GB of DDR3L memory, this notebook runs multiple programs simultaneously without experiencing slowdowns. For portability, it measures 0.93" thin and weighs 5.29 pounds. There's also a 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive that provides ample storage space for your videos, photos, and files.

The 15.6" WLED-backlit IPS screen displays colors accurately and features a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, which is driven by an integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 chipset. The ENVY x360 can expand the onscreen workspace to your external monitor or TV through its HDMI port. The display offers touch support so you'll be able to utilize the multi-touch gestures incorporated into Windows 10 Home. In addition, you can swipe, tap, and resize apps at your preference.

HP has outfitted the ENVY x360 with one USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports so you can expand its capabilities with external storage drives and printers. For convenience, it sports a multi-format digital media card reader for transferring digital content from your devices without using a cable. Accessing the Internet can be accomplished utilizing a networking cable connected to the Gigabit Ethernet port or wirelessly using 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Another wireless technology is Bluetooth that lets the notebook connect to headsets. Other notable features included with the HP ENVY x360 are a webcam and microphone as well as two Bang & Olufsen speakers so you can engage in face-to-face conversations and create videos.

Intel Core i7 6th-Generation Skylake Processor
This notebook houses a 6th-generation Skylake Intel Core i7-6500U processor that comes with two cores, which have a stock speed of 2.5 GHz and can also achieve speeds up to 3.1 GHz, thanks to Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. The 6th-generation Skylake processor uses low voltage to extend battery life without sacrificing performance. With a dedicated 4MB of L3 cache, 8GB of DDR3L RAM, and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, you'll be able to push the two cores up to four virtual cores for quick and efficient multitasking.
360° Hinge
A 360° hinge allows the HP ENVY to be used in four versatile modes. Use stand mode to watch movies and video conference; tablet mode to surf the web and read; notebook mode to work; and tent mode to give presentations and share photos.
15.6" WLED IPS Multi-Touch Display
The 15.6" widescreen IPS display of the HP ENVY features WLED backlighting, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, which can play 1080p HD content natively without upscaling. You can also output video to an external display via the HDMI port.
USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Connectivity
The dual USB 3.0 ports operate at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, and the USB 2.0 port operates at up to 480 Mb/s. They can be used to connect additional storage, optical drives, printers, memory card readers, and more.
Gigabit Ethernet
The Gigabit Ethernet port can be used to connect to wired networks for Internet access.
802.11ac Wi-Fi & Bluetooth 4.0
The HP ENVY can connect to a home or public wireless network via 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Additional compatible peripherals, such as keyboards, mice, headsets, and more may be connected using Bluetooth technology.

Windows 10 Home Features

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
