An impressive wide-angle lens for the H system, the Hasselblad HCD 24mm f/4.8 is an ideal optic for interior and architectural subjects, and features an improved shutter unit that provides shutter speeds up to 1/2000 sec as well as flash sync at all speeds. Featuring a complex optical design, this 104° angle of view lens maintains a high degree of sharpness and clarity from edge-to-edge and also employs a retro focusing design for consistent quality throughout the focusing range from 1.3' to infinity. This focusing mechanism also offers quick performance as well as full-time MF override for greater control over focus. Due to the ultra-wide-angle perspective, a pair of oversized filter adapters is also included with this lens to permit the use of screw-in filters while avoiding the likelihood of vignetting.

Hasselblad HCD 24mm f/4.8 Reviews
A stunning wide angle lens.
As much as I love the HCD 28mm, I bought the HCD 24mm for a number of reasons. In landscape and nature you can always crop back from a wide photo, but there is no way to add, so I start with the widest option possible (and only twice, wished for a little wider) In architecture, the options are a super wide lens and camera set level to the horizon, or using a tilt shift and stitching a photo back together later. Since the HTS 1.5 is essentially a tilt teleconverter the benefit of the shift is almost completely lost. Add to this the manual focus and the post processing, I found the workflow to be substantially to just shoot wide and crop back if required later. Lastly, it's the smallest and lightest of the wide angle lenses on the H series. Hiking with this lens is a must, it covers so many bases. I use 110mm filters with the adapter ring, so they are super quick to attach and use. One wish, if a wider aperture was possible, I'd upgrade in a heartbeat.
Superlative Lens
If you're looking for a lens to sit between the XCD 21mm and 30mm lenses you'll love this lens coupled with the HX adapter. All electronic functions are preserved with the adapter and the image quality is simply stunning. It gets really wide but there is little field distortion so the image looks very natural too. The only thing to be aware of is that the filter diameter is 95mm and, with the lens hood, it takes quite a bit of room in your kit.
