- Construction: 6 Elements / 5 Groups
A simple lens with a slightly longer-than-normal perspective, the HC 100mm f/2.2 Lens from Hasselblad is an H system optic featuring an improved shutter unit to permit working with shutter speeds up to 1/2000 sec., with flash sync available at all speeds. Well-suited to portraiture, this lens' fast f/2.2 maximum aperture allows for extensive control over depth of field for producing selective focus imagery, and also benefits working in low-light conditions. A full focusing AF system offers quick performance, which can also be manually overridden for fine-tuned focusing control as closely as 3.0' away.

question
Are there lenses that work better, or produce better images with the new 100 MP sensor then other lenses? Whats the difference between HC and HCD lenses? Are the HCD lenses meant for very high resolution digital? Sorry if the questions are simple or silly but the last Hasselblad I owned was a 500 c/m and I'm just beginning to think about medium format again.
Remember that the Hasselblad and other Medium Format systems and lenses were initially developed for analogue film. On a medium or large format camera analogue film had incredibly high resolution compared to 35mm. So whereas the maximum resolution for 35mm film was less, manufacturers did not have a need to produce lenses whose resolution was much higher than what that format was capable of. Now with all major brands producing full frame DSLRâs with many times the resolution of analogue film, there is now a catch-up to find and produce lenses that with higher resolution. Medium and large format film was always high res and had a higher resolution equivalent than even a 100 megapixel digital sensor. There were also expensive pro systems. Though some medium format lenses outperform others and some are âsoft focus portrait lensesâ, it is safe to say that even when using older medium format lenses, that they were always designed with high resolution in mind.

question
Does this provide 1/2000 on the older bodies as well such as GX645 / Hasseblad H1?
New exposure units have been installed in all of our lenses. If you own an H6D, you can now use these lenses to shoot up to 1/2000th of a second. If you own an H5D or earlier, you can use these new lenses to shoot up to 1/1000th of a second. If you own the previous generation of lenses, the maximum speed of 1/800th of a second remains with all H models. The GX645 was sold specifically to the Japanese market, in theory it should work, but we have no way of confirming.Hasselblad Technical SupportHasselblad Bron, Inc.(800) 367-6434www.hasselbladbron.com
