Well-suited for close-up shooting applications, the HC Macro 120mm f/4 II Lens from Hasselblad is a true macro optic offering a 1:1 maximum magnification ratio, along with a close minimum focusing distance of 1.3'. This H system lens features an improved shutter unit to permit working with shutter speeds up to 1/2000 sec, with flash sync available at all speeds. Aside from its penchant for close-up subjects, the short telephoto perspective is also ideal for portraiture and general applications, and the f/4 maximum aperture offers a notable degree of control over depth of field and selective focus. This autofocus lens utilizes a front-focusing design and permits full-time manual focus override for greater focusing control, especially at closer shooting distances.

Hasselblad HC Macro 120mm f/4 II Reviews
Great for flowers and water
Use this lens for flower imagery and the occasional waterfalls image. Spot on every time with brilliantly beautiful bokeh. The only negative I find is as others have commented, auto-focus has a tendency to hunt unless there is a clear contrast in the area being focused upon; also, it doesn't work terribly well with being Very close up. I have used the lens with stacked filters and do not have the issue mentioned by the other reviewer.
I would buy this again, but glad I don't have to.
This lens is not for the weak, it adds weight, but every ounce seems to be worth it. I use this for Headshot photography and it gives me just the perfect frame with no cropping needed at he distant I shoot at. This lens has more uses than just Headshots, but since that's all I use this lens for, that's all I can address. I'm very happy with the results and feel it is worth the money.
HC Macro f/4 120mm II Lens by Hasselblad
This lens has excellent optics as well as being well designed and easily usable. It synchronizes well with the camera body to produce accurate and rapid autofocus. Manual focus is precise and sensitive for micro adjustments. The images are crisp, clear and reflect an excellent color profile. This lens give enough space for lighting at 1:1 magnification because of its focal length. Works very well with TTL flash.
Slow autofocus with H6D, built issue...
So the built issue is that, in focus with distance above 3.5 meters the lens retracts 2-3millimeters past the outer lens barrel which if you want to use a filter holder for polarizing or ND filters, once it's screwed inside the path of the lens, it impeach you to focus past 3.5 meters !!! It's unusable. Please note that the other HC lenses I tried don't have this issue so I conclude it's a major design flaw with this lens in particular. Now I didn't try, all the HC and HCD Hasseblad lenses makes, so I don't guaranty that other lenses don't have this issue. Autofocus is very slow and inaccurate compared to other cameras on the market.
Great Lens but a beast
This lens is sharp and crystal clear. It should be for the price. I am accustomed to my Hasselblad lens topping out at f32. This one goes to f45 and is very sharp at f45, so almost getting up to the f64 on good view camera lenses. The f45 is not so sharp, however, that it obviates the need for focus stacking on some images. The problem is that the lens is very big and very heavy so it is for flowers, insects, etc., that can be brought inside into the studio. You are not going to want to carry it around.
