100W Per Channel Output Power, Optimized Circuit Design
Along with two 100W (8 Ohm, 40 Hz to 20 kHz, 0.2% THD) channels, the R-S201 Receiver offers a design that minimizes the length of signal routes and optimizes the circuit layout. Positioning the power transformer near the power amplifier circuit reduces power loss while improving peak power supply capacity to enable high volume output. The signal ground and power supply ground are connected at one point, eliminating mutual interference to achieve a higher S/N ratio. The result is sound with enhanced clarity.
Bluetooth Streaming Music Services
The R-S202 provides Bluetooth functionality to let you enjoy streaming music from smartphones and other devices. Use your device to select the songs from your library and enjoy.
40-Station AM/FM Preset Tuning
You can store a total of up to 40 AM and FM stations, then select the station from either the receiver or the remote control. The Auto Preset feature lets you automatically search for and store FM stations within range. Frequencies appear on the display, so even when you want to listen to a new station, you can easily tune to its frequency.
Natural Sound Reproduction
The R-S201 Receiver is based on the concept of Natural Sound for reproducing music as it originally sounded.
Power Saving
A power management function automatically switches to standby mode when the receiver has not been operated for a long time. It can be set to 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours, or turned off. In addition, the receiver consumes 0.5W in standby mode, offering energy-saving performance.
Speaker Selector and Speaker Terminals for 2 Systems
Equipped with speaker terminals for 2 systems, the built-in speaker selector makes it easy to switch between speaker outputs, allowing you to hear the sound from one speaker system (A or B) or from both (A and B).
Simple Design
The R-S201 Receiver features a simple design with minimal connections, buttons, and knobs.
Additional Features
  • Simplified remote control layout
  • Headphone terminal

Can I use 4 ohm speakers into this receiver?

Can I use 4 ohm speakers into this receiver?
Asked by: Tim
Yes, you can connect speakers of any impedance to to this receiver. With that being said, the performance of this amplifier will vary depending on the power requirements of the speakers and the volume you are trying to play at. The lower the impedance of the speaker the greater the wattage output of the receiver could be. As with any receiver, volume should never be run so high that you experience distortion in the speakers; this would indicate the amplifier is too powerful for your speakers. If you are experiencing clean sound, but the amplifier is overheating and shutting itself off, you are running the receiver too "hot" (volume too high to accommodate for sudden spikes like a cymbal crash or thunder) and would need a receiver with more watts per channel.

Can I pair that with JBL Stage A120 speakers (6 ...

Can I pair that with JBL Stage A120 speakers (6 ohms)?
Asked by: Luis
Those JBLs are rated at 6 Ohms nominal, and JBL suggest an Amp up to 125 Watts . At (8/6/4/2 ohms) the Amp is rated to output up to (125 W / 150 W / 165 W / 180 W), so for those JBLs that would be up to 150. As long as you stay away from distorted output at high volume you should be just fine, but I would look for speakers that can handle a bit more power. And I would look for an opinion from the B&H experts - they know their stuff.

connecting R-S202 to Pioneer FS52 Floor standing ...

connecting R-S202 to Pioneer FS52 Floor standing speakers should I use regular wiring or bi-wiring? Which is one is better?
Asked by: sunil
The Yamaha R-S202 Stereo Receiver with Bluetooth (Black), B&H # YARS202BL, should sound more or less identical regardless of whether it has standard wiring or bi-wiring. Bi-wiring can potentially reduce resistance within the wiring, but this difference would likely not be audible on any equipment being used outside of a professional studio, and therefore wouldn't make much of a difference on this particular receiver.

question

I am surprised to notice that practically there is no sound until the volume is raised to 40 to 45. Is this a device problem or normal for this product?
Asked by: Dr. Kohinoor
It may vary somewhat depending on the connected speakers and listening mode. Try headphones also.
