In this first installment of the downloadable Alan Howarth Signature Series Sound Effects collection from The Hollywood Edge, the accomplished designer and composer presents some of his personal favorites along with field recordings from travels around the world. The 388 royalty-free stereo sound effects contained herein fall into two categories: original recordings and those that were modified in a studio environment. Selections were made in an effort to provide a set of effects that could be used to build feature-quality soundtracks with excellent detail and variety, rather than just a few samples.

This download contains 24-bit, 48 kHz audio files, and is an electronic version of the original 5-CD set. The chapter derived from disc one includes aircraft, aerospace, metallic devices, and train sounds, while chapter two covers earthquakes, fires, ice, and wind tracks. The third chapter features automobile racing and crowd sounds from Israel. Horror and medieval sound effects, as well as a unique collection of horse sounds, are found in chapter 4. The fifth and final chapter includes sounds of nature from Israel, in addition to a variety of water and underwater effects. For complete details, see the Track List.
