  • UMC Ultra Multi-Coating
Control perspective and correct converging lines with the T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC Tilt-Shift Lens from Rokinon. This full-frame Sony E-mount lens offers a huge advantage over a standard prime, tilt of +/- 8.5° and shift of +/- 12mm, each of which allows a photographer to change the perspective of an image or correct for certain optical effects such as keystoning. The lens is quite capable in its own right, featuring a maximum aperture of f/3.5 and utilizing two aspherical and two extra-low dispersion glass elements to correct aberrations. Additionally, it has an Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) that prevents reflections and glare from ruining an image.

Has anyone tried this on an EOS R/RP? The display shows "f00" when I mount it to my RP.
Asked by: Donald
This is a tilt-shift lens and by its nature, it is manual and not electronic. Since there is no electronic connection, the f/stop is not communicated to the camera and the metadata. It is one of the things we have to put up with to enjoy the great features of tilt shift lenses. You may wish to see this article about the lens in B&H Explora. https://bhpho.to/2JfkqS8

What is the equivalent lens size / field of view when fully shifted left and right (ie, 24mm - 8.5 shift = 15.5mm? Is that correct)
Asked by: Douglis
Im answering my own question here, so maybe others can find it helpful. Tested against a 15mm lens, the calculation above is correct when shifted full left and right, it covers the same width as a 15mm lens. However, the full frame of the 15mm has greater height. The quality of this lens is very good, and head to head against my IRIX 15mm, is sharper with less distortion.

question

Can shift and tilt be adjusted to occur in same plane, or are they always 90 degrees apart?
Asked by: Anonymous
Tilt and Shift are always 90-degrees apart. The planes can be rotated, but tilt and shift cannot be done on the same axis simultaneously.
