Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4/4 Softbox To Go Kit
Key Features
  • 2x D-Lite RX 4 Flash Heads
  • EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus
  • Portalite Rectangular Softbox
  • Portalite Octagonal Softbox
Revolving around an updated triggering system, the D-Lite RX 4/4 Softbox To Go Kit from Elinchrom is a versatile two-light kit comprising everything needed for basic lighting setups and wireless control. Beyond the two lights and EL-Skyport Plus wireless transmitter, this kit also includes one rectangular softbox, one octagonal softbox, a translucent deflector, a pair of light stands and light stand case, and a durable storage bag for the lights and light modifiers.

The D-Lite RX 4 is a portable, multi-voltage 400Ws monolight featuring five stop power control in 1/10th step increments. Fast recycle times of as little as 0.35 sec keep you shooting without hesitation, and a 1/800 sec flash duration at full power is well-suited to freezing fast-moving action. The flash is also characterized by its integrated EL-Skyport receiver, which is compatible with the included EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus for wireless remote triggering and power control from up to 656' away. This transmitter allows you to trigger and set flash power for up to four groups, as well as an all groups setting, and 16 different channels, which are split between eight normal channels and eight hi-speed channels. A locking metal accessory shoe connector allows you to secure the transmitter directly to a camera, a top hot shoe and a 2.5mm sync port are available for directly connecting an additional strobe, and a swiveling design helps to improve reception for more direct transmission.

question

Is this compatible with a Sekonic Litemaster Pro L-478DR using its own Pocketwizard transmitter? If not, can Pocketwizard receivers be connected to them to work?
Asked by: Ray
If you are referring to the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U-EL Series Light Meter for Elinchrom EL Skyport System, B&H # SEL478DRELU, then it would be fully compatible for use with the Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4/4 Softbox To Go Kit as packaged. If you instead own the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U Light Meter for PocketWizard System, B&H # SEL478DRU, it would not be directly compatible for use with the Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4/4 Softbox To Go Kit. However, you may use the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U Light Meter for PocketWizard System with the light kit by connecting the included Elinchrom EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus (B&H # ELSTP) to the synchro terminal on the bottom of the light meter with the Metz 36-50 Standard Sync Cord, B&H # ME5548. When you press the MEASURE button on the meter, it will trigger the transmitter connected via the cable and trigger your lights. If If you are using PocketWizard remotes with the Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U Light Meter for PocketWizard System and the light kit, the light meter will communicate directly with the PocketWizard remotes. However, you will have to connect the PocketWizard remotes to the Elinchrom monolight strobes via the 1/8 (3.5mm) sync terminal on the rear of the monolights via the PC sync cables included with the PocketWizard remotes. The PocketWizard remotes are not directly compatible with the Elinchrom Skyport receivers built into the light fixture, so they have to be connected via the sync cable. If you do not have a sync cable, the PocketWizard PC1N Locking PC Sync Cable (1'), B&H # WIPC1NPC, would work for your usage needs.
