The DJI Osmo Z-Axis is a spring-loaded arm that significantly reduces vertical shaking of the DJI Zenmuse X3 Gimbal and Camera when you walk or jog. The gimbal and camera assembly attaches on top of the arm, and an Osmo Handle secures on the bottom and can be adjusted vertically to the desired position.

The Zenmuse X3 Gimbal and Camera is available sold individually or as part of the Osmo and Osmo+ Handheld Gimbals. The Handheld Gimbals also include the handle that attaches on the bottom. Otherwise the handle is available sold individually also.

Note: The Z-Axis is not intended for action sports that involve extreme movement or to be used with other non-DJI devices. It is also not compatible with the Osmo Bike Mount, Extension Rod, and Tripod.

Osmo Z-Axis for Zenmuse X3 Gimbal and Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great addition to your OSMO Using any gimbal requires a bit of skill in how you walk if you want to avoid that up down and bouncing motion. Smaller gimbals, and the OSMO in particular really suffer from this. The Z-Axis massively reduces this motion and with a bit of practice most users should get decent to great results with it. It's a very well-made and engineering product. The only downside is that it makes the OSMO a bit more unwieldy. I'd also love to see someone make a case that you could use to store the OSMO with the Z-Axis attached. Pair this up with a Rode VideoMicro and DJI Quick Release Microphone Mount and you have one of the cheapest and most portable quality gimbal solutions you can buy at the moment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smoothest video ever! I've had the DJI OSMO for a couple of months, now, and keep finding new ways to use it in regular day scenarios for family video capturing. I've always settled, as many do, with using my iPhone to film family videos since it is always handy, but never liked how nauseating the videos turned out. HD video means nothing if you can't see the subject. Then came the Z-axis attachment. The OSMO was great but with the Z-axis attachment, I can now run along side the action and still keep everything in frame. I would definitely say that the Z-axis smooths out the footage enough that it is a definite buy for anyone looking to up there game in any type of shooting situation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 1-star is harsh, but try being smooth without this(?) With how amazing the Osmo is, I couldn't wait to add this to take it up another notch. The 1-star review suggests that this enhances bounce... and so far I'm not so sure that's incorrect. I've been watching YouTube to see a really good example of the improvement provided by the Z-Axis... and even there, I don't see a big difference with or without it. That's why I rate it is okay... I can see the potential here, but don't think this is going to just fix your walking bounce... you'll still need to practice being smooth and make a very conscious effort while using this with the Osmo... and if you do that exact same thing w/o the Z-Axis... I'll bet you'll have a hard time telling the difference in your results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Osmo Z-Axis for Zenmuse X3 Gimbal and Camera What a great camera a Gimbal. We shoot indie movies in Florida (Tampa Bay Area) and rented one of these to shoot a scene for bigger movie company we were working on and loved it. The picture was better than the Black Magic there were shooting. So we bought our won and have shot several little shorts with it, if fact the last 28 minute masterpiece we did was shot entirely with the OSMO. The picture is smooth and clear! The 4 K camera is tops for when we do and in edits you can cut in tight and the picture is still clear. The best value on the market in my money. If you need a good little camera work action shots or just l regular, Ai could not recommend a better camera on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ordered from DJI I ordered through the DJI website on April 22,2016 and now it's May 17,2016. I had to wait a few weeks until last week, they shipped it out! Don't lose hope! It's worth the wait only if you think the Z axis will help you in the long run and using it a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Adds Bounce I purchased this item with high hopes it would act like a Stedi-Cam arm does, and offset the Z motion of the camera, aka the bounce from walking. Not only does it not do that, when properly adjusted, it amplifies the bounce. There's a walking technique called the Osmo Walk where you bend your knees and walk that takes out 99% of the bounce if done right. Save your money and do the Osmo Walk instead. If you plan on purchasing, and then have a bad experience of your own, keep this in mind...their return policy is only 7 days. I own a production company and have an account with DJI. And when trying to return the Osmo to them, they stated to me that policy to me and would not refund the money. Currently my credit card company is disputing this as the item is defective as to what it claims to achieve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Addition with Learning Curve Have been using it 24 hrs now. It is well built, easy to install, and with phone and mic mounted, actually balances out nicely. But it isn't idiot proof - point-n-shoot...it takes some practice to really get glass smooth even with this. Definitely worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Careful with the Mounts! The Z-Axis stabilizer does a great job and is easy to use. But beware that the electrodes on the mount are delicate...I loaned this to students and they were careless seating the camera and later the protective cap. The result was that the line of electrodes was all bent and I could not get a signal. Bending them back sort of fixed it, but now the electrodes look loose - will likely have to replace the unit.
