Presumably this works as a gaming capture device from consoles or other machines with HDMI out (via, for example, OBS Studio)?
Asked by: Ed
Yes it should. Due to the popularity of streaming games, the consoles do not have HDCP protection. This should capture the footage from gaming consoles just fine. The same for a computer with an HDMI output.

Can you run 2 of these connected to the same computer? What resolutions and frame rates and does audio come over?
Asked by: Stephen
You would need an especially capable computer, but each input to the AJA U-TAP USB 3.0 (3.2 Gen 1) Powered HDMI Capture Device (B&H# AJUTAPHDMI) will appear as a separately available video camera. The available resolutions and frame rates are those stated in the SPECS section of the product page: 480i / 525 lines at 29.97/59.94 fps 576i / 625 lines 25/50 fps 720p 50/59.94/60 fps 1080i 50/59.94/60 fps 1080p 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps Input Audio Format S/PDIF: 48 kHz / 16-Bit

Will this work with the blackmagic atem mini pro switcher to capture video?
Asked by: Ryan
The Mini Pro can capture to USB connected drives like the following model. https://bhpho.to/3G8cSg3 However if you wanted to connect the AJA UTAP to a computer it would allow you to stream or record video and audio sent from the HDMI output of the Atem Mini Pro. If you have a Thunderbolt 3 computer another recording idea would be the Black Magic 3G Recorder https://bhpho.to/331tbNz it comes with BM Media Express recording software.

Can this device work with OBS studio?
Asked by: MENG YONG
I should think so. I have been recording output from a satellite DVR (hdmi out to UTap) and to my Mac laptop (OS 10.13). I have used QuickTime Player and the dropdown menu next to the record button listed the Utap immediately. I should think your software will also display it as a source.
