LEE Filters 100 x 150mm Medium Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter
Key Features
  • 3-Stop Graduated ND Filter
  • Reduce Exposure in Selective Areas
  • Density Transitions from Edge to Middle
  • Medium-Edged Line of Transition
Helping to balance exposure when working in high-contrast situations, the 100 x 150mm Medium Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter from LEE Filters is specifically designed to selectively control brightness in difficult lighting. The filter's design places the 0.9, 3-stop density at the top of the filter and then transitions to clear by the center of the filter for a gradual, natural appearance. The medium-edge transition between the density and clear areas is well-suited for photographing scenes with an apparent but not rigid horizon line, such as when mountains or trees protrude into the sky. This filter is constructed from optical resin that is both durable and helps to maintain high clarity, and is compatible with the LEE 100mm filter holder.

LEE Filters NDG-M Overview

Graduated neutral density places the most density at the edge of the filter and tapers to clear by the center of the filter in order to accommodate photographing scenes with large bright areas, such as a daytime sky.
Medium-edge transition between density and clear portions of the filter is suitable for photographing scenes with an apparent, but indistinct horizon or line between light and shadow, such as when rooftops, mountains, or trees protrude into the sky.
Neutral density 0.9 provides a 3-stop reduction in light in selective areas.
Constructed from optical resin for overall clarity and durability.
Compatible for use with the LEE 100mm filter holder.
Included filter pouch protects the filter when not in use.

LEE Filters NDG-M Reviews

Another great Lee filter

Works as advertised. No appreciable color cast. Works perfectly with the Lee system. I use the 3-stop filter all the time (soft and medium edge).

Best in class neutral density filters & my go-to choice

While our cameras today have incredible dynamic range, it is still far better to get the capture right in the camera. After struggling with nasty color casts I saw from ND filters from another brand, I made the choice to switch to Lee. I've yet to see even a hint of a color cast; these are indeed NEUTRAL density filters and I believe best in class. I believe the medium grad makes an excellent first choice grad to reach for. It can be hard to hide the transition in a hard-edge grad and a soft-edge grad frequently has too little attenuation right where you need it the most. Enter the medium-grad as a go to choice.

Must have filter for landscape photography

This is perfect for balancing bright sky with a midtone or darker foreground. I have found it very useful in several situations. Can also be used to completely cover the field of view to slow shutter speed down for dramatic effects in clouds and water. Lee Filters are well made and fit easily in the Lee Foundation kit. I recommend using these filters especially when shooting in bright day light or when there is high contrast in the scene.
