Designed for use in entry-level Enterprise servers, typically for read-intensive and boot/logging applications, the 512GB X400 M.2 Internal SSD from SanDisk features a storage capacity of up to 512GB and a 1.5mm single-sided M.2 (2280) form factor. In addition to its server functionality, the X400 can also be used to store a variety of files including movies, photos, music, documents, and more on your compatible system. It connects to M.2 drive bays using its SATA III 6 Gb/s interface and delivers sequential read speeds of up to 540 MB/s, sequential write speeds of up to 520 MB/s, random reads of up to 93,500 IOPS, and random writes of up to 75,000 IOPS (In/Out Operations per Second).
With solid-state drive technology, you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with.
The 512GB X400 M.2 Internal SSD has been built using a 2nd generation TLC flash node. In addition to being compatible with the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, this SSD is backwards compatible with SATA II 3 Gb/s and SATA 1.5 Gb/s interfaces. It also features an MTTF (mean time to failure) rating of up to 1.75 million hours, an endurance rating of 160 TBW (terabytes written), nCache 2.0 technology, DataGuard Client technology, LDPC error correction, and TCG Opal 2.0 support. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty.
