  • 1Description

The ultra-thin form factor of the 256GB X400 Solid State Drive from SanDisk makes it a viable storage solution for devices such as notebook and Ultrabook computers as well as a variety of other devices supporting the SATA III drive interface. Once installed, this solid state drive utilizes nCache 2.0 technology to offer enhanced read and write speeds to maximize drive responsiveness and greatly increase workflows. Additionally, SanDisk has included DataGuard Client technology and LDPC error correction for increased reliability and endurance. To keep your data secure the X400 SSD operates with various third party security software vendors and can be encrypted using hardware based 256-bit AES encryption.

For Products Built Around High Capacities and Thin Form Factors
From ultrathin consumer notebooks to corporate platforms, the X400 SSDs features a large capacity drive in a reduced size form factor to deliver a variety of design and integration options for manufacturers and systems builders. This X400 SSD measures in at 2.5" with a 7mm-height making it a true drop in replacement for mechanical HDDs.
Responsiveness, Reliability, and Low Power
Built using SanDisk's 2nd generation TLC flash node, the X400 SSD offers quick responsiveness, high reliability and low power for a seamless and productive user experience.
nCache 2.0 Technology Means Better Performance
The X400 features nCache 2.0 technology, which boosts performance for fast burst and high sustained sequential write speeds. Its multi-tiered caching architecture uses a combination of SLC and TLC blocks to maximize read/write operations and improve responsiveness and longevity, making it the ideal storage solution for multi-tasking and heavy workloads such as photo and video editing, as well as office productivity applications.
Ultra-Durable with High-Grade Endurance
DataGuard Client technology and LDPC error correction mean that the X400 SSD delivers high reliability and endurance up to 80 terabytes written (TBW). A dedicated on-the-fly hardware core performs progressive error correction to minimize the impact on latency and performance, while maintaining low power usage. The X400 SSD product family includes a 5-year warranty.
TCG Opal 2.0 Support
TCG Opal 2.0 support means interoperability with 3rd party leading security Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). The X400 SSD includes Self-Encrypted Drive (SED) capabilities to protect data at rest through hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption. Corporate IT customers have peace of mind knowing their business-critical data is protected, secured and encrypted, while providing performance and reliability to its employees.

    SanDisk X400 reviews

256GB X400 Solid State Drive is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fountain of virtual youth I put this in a late 2008 MBPreplaced the original hard drive (!). If I could only update the computer's os to the latest I might not need another laptop for a few more years. It is sooooo much quicker with this hard drive, particularly on boot up. Down to less than 20 seconds. Seems completely stable after a few weeks. An amazing way to resurrect an old computer for jobs like running virtual instruments or effects. If all I did was surf the web or word processing I would probably be good for another 8 years.
