will this work with the 1st gen 600 EX-RT?
No, it is not compatible with the older 600ex RT flash. It is only compatible with the Canon 600EX II-RT.

will this fit on the yongnuo yn600ex-rt? if not does the hard gel kit from the previous version fit? Thanks
The SCF-E3 will fit on the Yongnuo yn600ex-rt. But the Canon 600ex has sensors which can detect which of their gels are being used. The Yongnuo does not have those sensors.
