    Within the Z Series, the Z840 Series Rackable Minitower Workstation from HP delivers extreme performance in a rackable minitower form factor. The Z840 is designed for professionals who require high reliability and is well suited for tasks such as intensive graphics, 3D rendering, multimedia, and gaming, as well as science and engineering applications. The system is powered by a 2.4 GHz Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 Fourteen-Core processor and 35MB of Intel Smart Cache, all of which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously and provide significant performance gains when running multi-threaded tasks. If more power is needed, the CPU can deliver extra performance by increasing its clock speed up to 3.3 GHz utilizing Intel's Turbo Boost 2.0 technology.

    The 16GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 ECC Registered RAM allows the computer to run multiple applications simultaneously and also to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. This Z840 is able to support 8 DIMM slots and the current 16GB memory configuration is made up of 2 x 8GB modules, which can be upgraded to up to 128GB per slot for a total of 2TB of RAM. As this RAM features ECC technology, it is able to help detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption. This RAM is also registered, and registered memory modules, also known as buffered memory modules, place less electrical load on the memory controller and allow single systems to remain stable with more memory modules than they would have otherwise.

    For long-term storage of your files, this system is equipped with a 512GB Z Turbo Drive G2 PCIe SSD, which allows quick access to your data. While the SSD may not have the larger storage capacity of a traditional spinning disk, it contains no moving parts, which helps it to be more resistant against bumps, drops, and other kinds of damage. SSDs also receive less wear and tear than traditional hard drives, as there are no read and write heads. Additionally, as this SSD connects via PCIe as compared to SATA, it is able to operate with even greater data transfer speeds. It provides sequential reads up to 2,150 MB/s and sequential writes up to 1,550 MB/s.

    If you want to add external storage drives or other peripherals, the Z840 features eight USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one serial port, and two PS/2 ports. For users who wish to add additional components to the drive bays, the Z840 features four internal 3.5" drive bays and two external 5.25" drive bays. No integrated or dedicated graphics controllers are included with this system, allowing the user to select a dedicated graphics card of their choice. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated IDT 92HD94 audio controller outputs high-definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.

    MAGIX Entertainment has bought Vegas Pro from Sony and now offers it in its next edition, Vegas Pro 14 , updated with highly-relevant new features, such as Apple ProRes support.

    The three different versions of Vegas Pro 14 (Vegas Pro 14 Edit, Vegas Pro 14, and Vegas Pro 14 Suite) all have the same core functionality but come with different effects packages. Vegas Pro 14 Edit doesn't include any additional packages; Vegas Pro 14 comes with Vegas DVD Architect, NewBlueFX Looks, Nativ + NewBlueFX Titler Pro Express, and Native + proDAD Mercalli V4; and Vegas Pro 14 Suite has everything that Vegas Pro 14 does plus Boris FX 3D Objects Unit, Native + Boris FX Key and Blend Unit, and Boris FX Match Move Unit.     Vegas Pro 14 is a comprehensive and complete video editing system. Vegas supports media in up to 4K resolution, offers GPU acceleration, features sterescopic 3D tools, and includes a full range of editing tools, from the most basic to advanced ones. Vegas has long been known as an editing system that's open to most formats and capable of editing them mixed on the same timeline, and that's still the case. Another distinguishing quality of Vegas is its powerful audio tools, which in many cases will suffice for even elaborate projects, ensuring you won't have to export to a dedicated audio editor. Vegas is also powerful— it runs exclusively on 64-bit versions of Windows 7, 8, and 10, and can take advantage of OpenCL-enabled graphics cards (GPUs) for an accelerated workflow, reduced render times, and the ability to play back high-resolution formats at full quality in real-time.   • AJA KONA 4 PCI-E Video I/O Card

    Using integrated hardware processing, the KONA 4 PCI-E Video I/O Card from AJA can ingest and output 4K resolution video at up to 60 fps. With that resolution, you can view the details of your production natively on a 4K monitor. Along with 4K resolutions, the KONA 4 supports uncompressed 1080p I/O with 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 color subsampling. The KONA 4 can simultaneously input and output uncompressed video via its 3G-SDI ports. Two ports accept the video input while the other two can drive a professional display or output to a recording deck.

    The hardware processing also allows for up, down, and cross-conversion. Usually to unify project resolution, footage must be converted or rendered in software to match it to the project. With its internal hardware scaler, the KONA 4 can unify the resolutions of the video clips in your project without prior rendering. In addition to conversion, the KONA's internal processing can overlay graphics on a video stream for quick keying.

    The KONA 4 includes a 60-pin breakout cable for more I/O flexibility. Additional inputs and outputs include AES/EBU audio, LTC and Reference BNC connections, component analog video, and RSS-422 machine control. Also included are a 4-BNC to mini-BNC Link Cable and an HDMI to mini-HDMI cable. The KONA 4 can also be used in a rackmount configuration with the optional K3G Breakout Box. The K3G fits in a standard 19" rack space and has connections to take advantage of all the I/O the KONA 4 has to offer.

    4K High Frame Rate (HFR) Support
    The KONA 4 supports 50p and 60p at up to 4K resolutions. 4K can be input or output by using all four BNC connections for broadcast and professional hardware, or the HDMI port to connect to 4K computer monitors or consumer hardware such as televisions.
    Versatile Integration
    KONA 4 supports both Windows and Linux, providing 4K and multi-channel power for a wide range of applications. Mac support will be made available in the future.
    Hardware Keying
    The built-in hardware downstream keyer allows graphics and images to be overlaid on the input video to the card for overlays. The hardware processing provides the necessary computing power to create a key quickly without prior rendering.
    Hardware Conversion
    The KONA 4 performs hardware up, down, cross-conversion to unify resolutions. Hardware conversion simplifies workflows and eliminates the need to adjust resolution using software. If your project is in 1080p resolution and you have standard definition NTSC content, the internal scaler will process and up-convert the NTSC footage to match the 1080p resolution of the project. If the NTSC footage has a different aspect ratio (4:3), you can choose how you want the KONA 4 to process it. It can be processed with letterboxing, or anamorphic stretching to fit the 16:9 HD frame. Because this conversion is done with the KONA's hardware, it happens in real time, so no prior rendering is needed.

    Housing a Maxwell architecture chip, the PNY Technologies Quadro M4000 Graphics Card is optimized for professional graphics rendering. This model is priced with HP's Smart Buy discount. The Maxwell architecture GPU features 1664 CUDA cores coupled to 8GB of GDDR5 vRAM with a 256-bit memory bus providing a maximum of 2.6 TFLOPS of single-precision computing power. Using supported APIs and CUDA, that computing performance can translate into high resolution and realistic real-time 2D and 3D graphics rendering or improved computing speed with hardware acceleration.

    The output panel on this card features four DisplayPort terminals.
