TrioBalance 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Alternative To Gitzo This tripod is beautifully made and operates smoothly and quickly. Comparing it to Gitzo tripods which I've used for many years: it is impossible to add a center column, when closed the tripod legs close up against each other giving a smaller diameter package than Gitzo, the legs have four angle stops vs. three for Gitzo and the leg angle stops are quicker to use, the twist leg locks seem to require slightly more rotation, the rubber caps on the feet just pull on or off (spike beneath cap). The leveling head that is built into the tripod works quickly and smoothly. For many uses you would not even need a normal tripod head. You could just mount a quick release to the tripod. The ability to unscrew the legs and replace them with either very short legs or add an extension, gives the tripod the flexibility to handle uncommon situations. The short legs which can be used for a table top tripod work well, but take up almost as much room as a table top tripod, so the main value would be keeping the same tripod head for both normal and table top use. The overall quality feels at least as good as Gitzo. In my opinion it is a better looking tripod. The built in leveling and extra leg angle adjustments, and smaller closed size make it more desirable for many uses.
