Fargo HDP5000 Overview

The Fargo HDP5000 High-Definition Dual-Sided Printer/Encoder uses a standard holographic HDP film, suitable for up to 500 prints, that fuses to the surface of proximity and smart cards, conforming to ridges and indentations formed by embedded electronics. Batch jobs are simplified by the use of a 100-card input hopper and a 200-card output hopper. Checking print status is easy with a SmartScreen graphical display on the front panel, as well as the Fargo Workbench utility with Color Assist tool for diagnostics and matching colors for accurate prints. Additionally, it has both USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity options.

The Omnikey 5125 reader board enables OEMs, value added resellers, and system integrators to build solutions for contact and contactless security and loyalty applications. The reader board is ideal for organizations that need to integrate a convenient contact smartcard and/or HID Prox PC connected reader board.

By printing a reverse image on the underside of the HDP film, then fusing the film to the card surface, the printer creates an image quality that looks more like a sharp glossy photo. Printing on film instead of directly on the card means that the uneven surface of technology cards doesn’t compromise the image quality. In addition, the printer can print double-sided and edge-to-edge for optimum quality.

For added protection during the printing process, the printhead never comes in contact with card surfaces or debris. Cards produced by high definition printing are tamper-resistant and can withstand wear and tear. Cards, ribbons and overlaminates can be quickly loaded via the cartridge-based system. In addition, the printer is suitable for creating government, corporate, and student IDs.

5125 Encoder Applications
Contact and/or contactless security applications such as Windows log-on, mail encryption, hard disk encryption, and secure transactions
Loyalty and secure print applications
Any other application supporting contactless or dual interface cards
