Tenba 636-264 Overview

  • 1Description

The plum/gray BYOB 9 Camera Insert from Tenba is designed to carry and protect a camera and gear inside other non-camera bags including larger backpacks, suitcases or handbags. Its soft outer shell molds to the shape of a variety of carry bags. The gray BYOB 9 will hold a mirrorless camera or compact DSLR with 2-3 lenses and accessories. Padded interior dividers are adjustable to fit multiple configurations and soft brushed tricot lining does not scratch your equipment. The insert features a zippered top cover that can be folded back and stowed to allow easy access to your gear and a handle for carrying and quick removal of the insert. Stretchy mesh pockets provide a place to store mobile phones, camera and lens accessories or other items and zippered interior pockets can secure smaller more valuable items. In addition there are front and rear pockets for additional acessories and a D-ring to attach keys, a carabiner or tethered media wallet.

BYOB 9 Camera Insert Plum/Gray is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little protector! Why I did not think to invent this myself I don't know! I have a camera bag but it is not a hiking camera bag and cannot carry a laptop. I have a commutor bag and day pack, but they are not a camera bags! Until I got this handy little insert. After hiking with the day pack and having my cameras and lens in their own bags, I realized I needed a camera bag I could back pack with, but I did not want to buy a new back pack. I bought this BYOB 9 and it fits my Sony A6000 plus a long lens, and also a point and shoot! It is small enough to put in a messager bag or my backback. I sort of got a couple of new bags from one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Maxpedition Falcon III Backpack I purchased the BYOB 9 to fit my Nikon D7200 inside my Maxpedition Falcon III backpack. The foam case works excellent and while it is not normally wide enough to fit my DSLR, the insert can bend to fit it. Lots of pockets and it feels very secure. The outside feels durable and could take abuse if needed to. While I do use the NIKKOR 50mm F1.8G lens, there is more than enough room to fit my stock 18-140mm F3.5-5 on my D7200. If I wanted to keep both lenses in the insert, I might need to upgrade to the BYOB 10. Do note, the BYOB 9 might not fit any DSLRs larger than the D7200 or DSLRs with battery grips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE this bag!!! I was looking for a protective insert that would allow me to put my Canon Rebel XT, along with two lenses (55-250mm and 18-55mm), into another non-camera bag. This is perfect and was exactly what I was looking for (put the smaller lens on the camera and the zoom lens next to it - they fit perfectly). I wasn't sure if my camera and lenses would fit in this bag so I asked the question. I got a number of answers (thank you everyone!) - some said yes, it would fit, but some said no I would need a bigger bag. The B&H staffers who answered my question said yes, it would fit, instead of trying to sell me the larger, more expensive bag. One of the many reasons I LOVE B&H. You folks are the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect for Texas Leica I bought this bag to carry my Fuji GW690 II (aka Texas Leica) 6x9 camera on hiking excursions. It is just a bit snugger than I'd like for this huge camera, but it fits well enough all the same. I think a GSW690 with its shorter lens would probably fit a little better. The bag has a lot of room left over for 120 roll film. It slides in and out of my day pack with ease. Here are some other things I carry in this bag: - Two Leica 35mm bodies, three lenses, and a few rolls of film. Compact lenses can be left mounted, although I prefer to dismount all lenses. I normally carry a 35mm, 50mm, and 90mm lens. - Fuji X-Pro 1 mirrorless body, plus two lenses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Micro 4/3rds Messenger Bag Insert Picked this up for my Olympus OMD-EM5 kit inside a Timbuk2 Classic Small Messenger Bag. Fits my EM5 with a Really Right Stuff Grip / Sigma 19mm attached with hood. Also a Sigma 30mm lens and my tiny Panasonic Lumix 35-100 lens(hoods reversed)next to Camera. Plus 2 batteries, 2 SD Cards, cleaning cloth, and 2 filters - Polarizer and 3-Stop ND. Tenba Bag is small and compact to fit inside my messenger bag easily without taking up too much space. Wish bag was maybe 1 longer so I could have 2 spare lenses side by side instead of on top of each other in bag. But that is minor as I was looking for compact and this bag covers that. I had a Timbuk2 Snoop Camera Insert XSmall and it was way to big for my setup and took up too much useful bag space for other things such as jacket and such for traveling. Overall nice, simple, lightweight bag which should fit my needs. Interior fabric could be a little tighter or not so flimsy for moving Velcro dividers.... Also picked up a BYOB7....see review there

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tenba should pay me at this point I've been recommending the BYOB cases for a long time now. I have about 18 of them, most of them are the 9 version. We travel a lot can't accommodate a pelicase for every kit we have, so this is the alternative. You can throw them in a backpack, a duffel, a peli or whatever and it'll keep your kits well organised and well protected. I don't know if anybody uses these the way I do, but man, it's a revelation. The big boys go in two peli 1510s and the tenbas go in the backpacks, works a treat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect size I bought this bag to place in my small 10 L hiking day pack to bring on short trips. I couldn't justify investing in a specific camera bag for hiking so this organization unit really fit what I needed. It is big enough for me to store my small canon crop DSLR mounted with a 10-18 lens, my 24 prime, and my 75-300 lens. I can't fit all my gear, but that wasn't the point. The smaller size forces me to trim down on the gear/weight I am carrying for hiking. This might be a tighter fit for some crop DSLR cameras, but would likely fit most mirrorless systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Bag Did I say little? I'm really glad I went with the BYOB 9 instead of the 7. It fits my XT-1 with a 35mm/2.0 on it and an 18-135mm in the bag as well. Will also fit thecharger, cards, etc, but not much else. Great construction and compact bag to stow away in another bag. Attaching a photo with a mouse and water bottle next to it just for reference.
