Pearstone IMA-1030 Overview

The IMA-1030 from Pearstone is a switchable in-line attenuator that can be inserted between a high-output microphone and the input of a mixer or preamp to pad the input level and avoid distortion.

The IMA-1030 connects in-line between a low-impedance or phantom-powered condenser microphone and a mixer and allows you to dial in -10, -20, or -30 dB of attenuation. It features XLR female to XLR male connectors and a fully shielded metal case to prevent interference.

I got this attenuator because the output of our church's mixer is line level and we feed it into several units which are expecting mic level. This attenuator works great. I love the switchable db values and the switch is smooth and easy to use.

It is the perfect range , -10 to -30.. I have a -20 -40 and that was too much. -10 Is perfect for my Zoom H4N

I like this a lot. Works as advertised. No sound coloration. Absolutely perfect for home studio use. For use on the road, I honest would pay the extra money and get the Shure. Construction is solid, but I do see where they skimp a bit (ex the male connector part construction). Don't let me dissuade you...This seems to be a very good unit, but I can't attest to it being roadworthy 'bullet proof' as I would knowing Shure products. I

It didn't really help my situation with over modulated audio. It actually muffled it. Loses it's clarity as you adjust to loudness coming into it.
