    Sony HT-XT2 reviews

HT-XT2 170W 2.1-Channel TV Speaker Base (Black) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Price, performance and persistence are rewards of this speak In the final analysis this speaker is a really good improvement to the sound system of my flat screen TV. Matching this speaker with a Hitachi flat screen meant a time crawling through both devices settings menus. Turning on the TV can make the speaker system turn on, but there is a several second lag while the Sony speakers to detect the TV sound is on, it does ask you on the front of the speaker to wait a bit while it detects and boots. there is also a time out to shut the speaker off...but it works!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pointless?? I have a LG OLED in the bedroom I wanted this for. The OLED is so thin the speakers are pretty weak. Since this was for a bedroom I didn't want a huge soundbar, and I didn't need room filling/shaking sound. My needs were low. That said, this speaker base was beyond disappointing. The sound quality is worse than the tiny TV speakers! The voice amplification mode doesn't do much to my ears either. I can't imagine how the sound from this is any kind of improvement over even the worse TV built-in speakers. If I still had the packaging it would be returned by now. As it is, just garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good sound and surround. I bought the HT-XT2 model, after chasing the HT-XT1 model unsuccessfully, and as a replacement to another Sony soundbar that did not allow the placing of the TV set on its top. I was surprised with the sound it emits. I wanted to get the best out of the unit, and decided to purchase a couple of surround wireless speakers. I am very pleased with the surround result and I recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Tv speakers I use the soundbar instead of my TV speakers, but I do play music on it. They are better than the TV ones. I use my infinity remote. The remote that comes with the sandbar does not allow me to change settings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away from the XT2 & 3 Numerous purchasers of this sound box have reported problems with the product. See Sony Community Board: There is evidently some software problem that turns the box (which was great when it was working) into a brick. Sony has made zero response to the numerous reports of problems. Local repair shops will not touch as the problem is software. As a result, when it shuts down, it's gone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than what I expected! I was shopping for a soundbar and sub when I came across this speaker. It's not that small size wise but doesn't make your space occupy. Sound is good quality and surround; definitely comparable to a much more expensive units. The sound volume is more than enough for my 100sqf entertainment room. Bluetooth, audio Chromcast and wi-fi network file sharing are its additional benefits.
