Decent Headphones for the price

These are good basic headphones. However they seem to magnify the sound too much for my tastes. It works fine when listing to music but it is too high for phone calls.

Very bad headphones, good microphone

I always like to keep extra ear buds around because I can't be caught at a production without a way to monitor audio. Usually I am only needing to monitor for interference and background noise, so they don't have to be the highest quality headphones. Many inexpensive earbuds I have used in the past actually have excellent sound quality, but these do not. Frequencies above about 900Hz are attenuated giving the headphones a muddy hollow sound. Maybe this is to optimize for the vocal range, but even vocals sound imprecise and garbled without the upper frequency range. Using a tone generator these headphones produce sound below 20Hz at respectable levels. The problem is when playing music the drivers are not able to maintain these levels leaving the sound very hollow without much treble or bass. With the poor showing from the headphones I didn't expect much form the microphone, but I was surprised. With this microphone focusing on speech I recording some speaking in a small room. The result was crip and clear with low echo. You might struggle to understand the person you are speaking with, but they should be able to hear you clearly. In both my phone and laptop if the connector is twisted at all there is crackling that can be heard in the headphone. This happened even when bumped slightly. I could not get my other headphones to do this, so it had something to do with how the Maxells are manufactured. If I had to do it again I would not buy these.

I am quite content with purchase. I bought it for listening to english podcasts while I am in subway on my way to work. I love it. I hear everything clearly even though the noise of train. I don't even use the full volume.

TERRIBLE sound quality!... Avoid these like the plague

I bought these as a replacement for a similar pair purchased at Walmart years before. The sound quality of the newer purchase has *drastically* become poorer I mean the headset is hardly suitable even for *voice* conversations on the telephone, (let alone anything demanding a higher quality of sound)... Spend your money, elsewhere. I regret having bought these.

really poor audio quality

having already bought 10 dollars earphones in the past, i expected some minimal quality. It reminds me of the earphones they give you at the airplane... for a few dollars more you can buy a much better sony or jvc ....

I would buy it again.

< 1 month of use Positive: + Cheap + It has microphone and answer button. + Small + Comfortable Negative: - Acceptable sound quality Summary: Ideal for someone just making phone calls, not so good sound quality to enjoy the music on phone. Good benefit/cost ratio.

Cheap and not good

The quality of sound is not good and I guess should have been expected for their cheap price!

question

where are instructions for the remote?
Asked by: Jim B.
The mic button on the new design is a small circular button located on the opposite side of the Maxwell logo. On an Android phone, the button can be used answer/end phone calls, play/pause music. Double pressing will skip to the next song that's playing, and holding down the button will open up Google Now voice search.
