This B&H Kit combines the HP Z840 Series Rackable Minitower Workstation with a second 2.1 GHz Xeon E5-2620 v4 processor, a 1TB SSD, an HP Quadro M4000 graphics card, a Thunderbolt 2 adapter, and three 8GB 2400 MHz ECC DDR4 modules. This kit has been custom tailored for multimedia and scientific environments by coming armed with two Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors along with 32GB of ECC memory to render detailed 3D textures or analyze large blocks of data while running other tasks. The second processor doubles the Z840 workstation's PCIe lanes and cores so it can better handle the SSD, Thunderbolt 2 adapter, and dedicated graphics card.

Pushing this system into the 4K spectrum is an NVIDIA Quadro M4000 graphics card, which offers 8GB of video memory and 1664 CUDA cores. This combination of features provides real-time 2D and 3D graphics rendering and assists the processor's performance with hardware acceleration. Moreover, up to four monitors can be simultaneously supported by this single card to increase your productivity.

To keep up with the Z840's fast data crunching capabilities, a 1TB SSD and 2.5" to 3.5" drive converter bracket are mounted, so it can quickly deliver files and offer faster boot times. This second drive will provide a total storage capacity of 2TB, letting you store more videos, photos, and files than the native 1TB hard drive. For external peripherals, the installed adapter is outfitted with a single Thunderbolt 2 port that supports bi-directional speeds of up to 20 Gb/s as well as daisy-chaining with up to six Thunderbolt-equipped devices. The Z840 is designed for professionals who require high reliability and is well suited for tasks such as intensive graphics, 3D rendering, multimedia, and gaming, as well as science and engineering applications. The system is powered by a 2.1 GHz Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 Eight-Core processor and 20MB of Intel Smart Cache, all of which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously and provide significant performance gains when running multi-threaded tasks. If more power is needed, the CPU can deliver extra performance by increasing its clock speed up to 3.0 GHz utilizing Intel's Turbo Boost 2.0 technology.

    The 8GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 ECC Registered RAM allows the computer to run multiple applications simultaneously and also to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. This Z840 is able to support 8 DIMM slots and the current 8GB memory configuration is made up of 1 x 8GB module, which can be upgraded to up to 128GB per slot for a total of 1TB of RAM. As this RAM features ECC technology, it is able to help detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption. This RAM is also registered, and registered memory modules, also known as buffered memory modules, place less electrical load on the memory controller and allow single systems to remain stable with more memory modules than they would have otherwise.

If you want to add external storage drives or other peripherals, the Z840 features eight USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one serial port, and two PS/2 ports. For users who wish to add additional components to the drive bays, the Z840 features four internal 3.5" drive bays and two external 5.25" drive bays. No integrated or dedicated graphics controllers are included with this system, allowing the user to select a dedicated graphics card of their choice. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated IDT 92HD94 audio controller outputs high-definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.
