Styled in a vivid red color, The MicroBrute Red is a monophonic synthesizer keyboard from Arturia offering a 25-note mini keyboard and an all-analog signal path. It also features a compact design, a translucent shell for viewing the electronics inside, and a multi-wave analog oscillator with mixable waveforms.
The MicroBrute Red's single analog oscillator is capable of simultaneously generating sawtooth, square and triangle wave shapes, allowing you to blend them together in the pursuit of complex waveforms. You can also add a -1 octave (sub) square wave to your sound, and an "overtone" control gives you the ability to add harmonics.
The synth features a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) with switchable waveforms (square, saw and sine), as well as an adjustable rate. Its destination is set to modulate the pitch of the oscillator by default and it has a depth control for adjusting the amount of modulation.
The MicroBrute Red also has a built-in 64-step sequencer that allows you to input notes one at a time to create rhythmic patterns. It has an internal memory capable of storing up to 8 different patterns, and the sequences can be backed up to your computer using the included editor software.
Oscillator features signal-enhancing controls including Ultrasaw for generating thick sawtooth waveforms, Metalizer for creating harmonics, and pulse-width modulation
Steiner-Parker-designed filter section with low-pass, band-pass and high-pass modes, as well as "Brute Factor" control for adding saturation and enhancing low-end
Attack, decay, sustain and release (ADSR) for shaping the envelope of the sound
A patchable mod matrix allows you to reroute default destinations of the LFO and ADSR controls using the two included mini-jack patch cords
CV/GATE connections for using the MiniBrute with modular synth components
USB MIDI I/O and standard MIDI input for interfacing with your computer and other MIDI gear
Audio input for using the MicroBrute as an audio processor
Standard pitch and mod wheels
