    Linksys CM3024 reviews

    CM3024 24 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 112.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, easy set up. I received the Linksys CM 3024 in return for my honest feedback. The modem is replacing an 8 year old Motorola Surfboad which I thought was great at the time. Install only took a couple minutes and I was able to configure it with my provider (Comcast/Xfinity) through my smart phone. Performance is solid even with multiple users on tablets, phones and streaming movies. I have Blast Internet from Comcast which is good for 50-75mbp but, my old modem usually kept my speed at about 50-60. I've attached a picture of my speeds within the last week of using this modem. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Easy Setup Ive had this modem for a couple weeks now and it works great. It really is an excellent modem. The setup is super easy, just plug everything up and call the cable company to give them the new mac address so they can activate it on your account. We have had several bad thunderstorms in the time Ive had this modem, losing power a few times and this modem just starts right back where it left off. One of my previous modems needed rebooting all the time but this one has been great. My previous modem was a Motorola Surfboard 3.0 so I didn't expect much of a speed change but was pleasantly surprised when see a small increase in my speed both download and upload. **See photos attached. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Modem The Linksys CM3024 was probably one of the easiest and simple modems I have ever setup. If you just follow the Quick Start Guide that's provided, step by step, you should not have any problems. I connected the modem to my existing router and computer and followed Step 3 - Activation and everything connected perfectly. The footprint of the modem is a bit large, but I think that is a Plus, as the unit appears to run much cooler than my previous modem. I have 100 mbps download speed provided by my internet carrier, I tested the speed after everything was hooked up and actually got 118 mbps download test result, so the modem appeared to be working excellent. For the ease of operation and installation I would definitely recommend this modem to anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The fastest and most reliant modem on the market! The Linksys CM3024 has been a fast, reliant, top performer for me these past few weeks. I personally thought upgrading my modem would not have much of an effect on my home network...I was completely wrong. The CM3024 has not only made me exceed my data rate, it has cleared up ALL of the bogging I had encountered when streaming multiple devices and gaming concurrently. The 24 download and 8 upload bonded channels of this unit really provides the reliability I needed. If you have been looking to cut the cord on your modem rental fees, this should be your go to modem! The feature I liked most about the CM3024 was the ease of setup. Once all connections were made, I plugged in the AC adapter and let the unit do its thing. This took about 5 minutes. Then I went to my desktop and opened up a webpage. You are redirected to a page by your ISP where you enter you modem’s information. In my case, my ISP required a phone call to verify a new install and the MAC address on the back of the modem. All in all, everything took a total of 20 minutes, including the 10 minutes phone call with my ISP. That’s it! *Quick tip: If you are having problems with your computer making a connection with the new modem and do not want to go through the hassle of restarting your computer, all you have to do is open up the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) and type “ipconfig/release”, then “ipconfig/renew". This will renew your computer’s IP address with your router, as well as receive the new information from your modem/ISP. Another feature I really like with the CM3024 is the amount of information provided by the status lights. On the Receive and Send status lights, a green light signifies when you are connected to a downstream/upstream frequency, while a blue light indicates when you are connected with multi-channel bonding. Then with the Ethernet status light, green indicates when you are connected at 10/100, while blue indicates 10/100/1000. There are numerous other statuses with the lights depending on solid or blinking. A table listing all the statuses can be found in the online manual on Linksys’ website. *Quick tip: If you want to know how many bonded channels are being provided by your ISP to your new modem, type 192.168.100.1 into your browser. This will provide the amount of bonded channels that are currently being used, as well as list each individual channel. The only aspect of the CM3024 that might cause problems for some users is the size. This unit is not small by any means, but for the service (24x8) and quality it provides, the larger size is needed. ISP-wise, this modem can really be used on almost any cable ISP...not just the four listed on the box (Comcast Xfinity, Time Warner, Cox, and Charter). I personally have Suddenlink, and this modem has been working flawlessly with their service…even though Suddenlink’s website specifically says only “their” list of modems will work with their service. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys CM3024 Comcast users! Easy quick setup! The installation was simple. You can just attach the new cable modem to your cable without wasting time to call technical support, assuming your cable internet is operable. As per the user guide, simply connect the new modem and power it up. Observe the lights to confirm the new modem on your cable initiated your ISP's automatic provisioning. Now, direct connect your computer or router to the modem, power cycle the modem and open your browser. You eventually will see a screen that requests your account number and registered phone number, or log into your account. Then click "activate" and it's up and running in about 5 minutes!! I chose the Linksys CM3024 primarily due to its DOCSIS 3.0 certification and its acceptance as an approved device by Comcast. Comcast has (48) DOCSIS 3.0 devices on its approval list that are still marketed by the manufacturer for consumer purchase. Linksys seems to have gone the extra mile to assure its device is acceptable to Comcast. This specific cable modem is my best available option today and it works. Great modem and it's been running for 6 days w/o any issues. I'm using it with my Linksys WRT1900AC Smart WiFi Wireless AC Router, and Linksys SE4008 8-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch, they are awesome. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek and fast Setting up the modem was really fast, probably less than 5 minutes. Activating it through my service provider unfortunately took much longer than that. The speed is slightly faster than what is promised by my ISP. I have not had any disconnects so far. I like that the lights are small and not blindingly bright like my previous modem. The only problem seems to be that the speed over wifi does not seem to be consistent. It can be anywhere from 30-50 Mbps different from one hour to the next. I did not have this problem with the modem I was using before this. I am currently still trying to troubleshoot this issue. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New CM...stable performance. I would offer up 5 stars but it's size and lack of wall mounting option are main negatives. I'm sure the size is based on cooling requirements which may also be an issue for those with limited areas to set this up. Speeds are fractionally faster than my previous CM but with increased speed options becoming available in my area this unit should fit right in...and require me to update some of my other hardware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How much difference does a good modem makes??? The answer is A LOT... First what I consider the pres... 1) The first this is the actual setup or should I say What setup??? I just connected the modem and once it got power it start doing all the internal setup (this is when all the lights start blinking and the modem restarts itself). Now this process might take a couple of minutes so be patient. Once all the light where on and solid I turn on my computer, open the browser and enter my cable credentials ( I have Xfinity) and the computer did the rest. This was extremely easy. 2) My old modem only support 8 x 4 channels so I was having problems where the internet suddenly stop working in some devices randomly for long period of time or they were just too slow. In my home network I have 5 computers, 3 tablets, 2 phone, 3 streaming device,1 range extender, 2 Skype cameras, and 1 cable box. I really could not figure out why was this happening. Well now I know, with this modem I don't have this issue anymore. Having the ability of using 24 downloads and 8 uploads channels actually fix this issue for me. In fact my sister is having the same issue I was having and now I'm going to suggest to her to change her modem.. I was so naive to think that all the modem where the same!! Now this is what I consider been the cons... The actual modem size, for my preference is little to big (compare to the one I had it before), my old modem was hided from the kids and now this one will be more visible. And the other thing I did not like is that the actual base is already attach and is not removal. It would be nice if that base could be remove and have the option of putting the modem sideways.. But this is all cosmetics stuff so the cons are more thing that I would personally like to see and not necessary bad things... Now as information once I start verifying my IP addresses I notice that IPv6 is now been use in my network. Not sure if this is good or bad but with my old modem don't remember seen IPv6 so just an FYI.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
