Positive Grid 11-30250 overview

  • 1Description

Available both as a download for computers and an iOS app for iPads, Bias FX from Positive Grid gives you stompbox and effects-rack emulation for your DI'd electric guitars and basses. Its GUI is intuitive, and its offerings are large; to date, 30 effect emulations are provided, though more are being made accessible over the cloud.

BIAS FX does provide 12 amplifier emulations, though it also integrates with BIAS Amp, Positive Grid's amp- and cabinet-emulation which not only gives you a panoply of amplifiers and cabinets, but also allows you to fashion your own custom amplifiers. Furthermore, access to the proprietary ToneCloud gives you the opportunity to use the custom effects chains of your peers, as well as the ability to upload your own. This software is compatible with Mac, Windows, and iOS platforms, and can operate in standalone mode, or within AU, VST, RTAS and AAX formats.

Notable Features
  • Analog modeling
  • 25 high-quality effect pedals
  • 5 rack processors
  • 12 classic amp emulations
  • Hundreds of simulated pedalboards available on ToneCloud, with an ever-expanding availability of content
  • Import unlimited amp models from BIAS AMP
  • Dual amps allow you to hybridize any guitar-amp dynamics, EQ, cab and microphone combination, thus providing sonic characteristics unusual in a traditional setup
  • BIAS Amp gives you control over designing your own fully customized amplifier simulation
  • Splitter switches between and combines dual signal paths, adjusting the level and frequency range for each path to give you more tone-shaping possibilities
  • Live View mode lets you recall any preset with a single tap and toggle on/off any single effect or category of effects
  • Pedalboard View shows all the effects and amps in the currently loaded preset at once
  • Global Settings optimizes BIAS FX’s output to sound the best in various environments, optimizing signal for mixers, amp heads, combos, and stack power amps, doing so by allowing equalization and selective deactivation the app’s preamp, tonestack, power amp and cab separately for each destination.
  • Inter-App Audio compatibility lets you insert other Inter-App Audio apps in any place in your BIAS FX signal path within iOS
