Positive Grid 11-30254 overview

Available for download, the BIAS Pro Series Studio Compressor Bundle from Positive Grid aims to take the algorithmic DSP modeling of hardware compressors one step further by emulating the very components that make up classic units of erstwhile ages. Thus, the tube compressor models the actual tubes involved, the optical compressor emulates the actual light-source detector and various aspects thereof, and the FET compressor offers nuanced tweaking of the side-chain detector circuit, look-ahead parameters, and more.

This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms, and can operate in AU, VST, RTAS, and AAX formats. There is no standalone version.

Tube Compressor
This module emulates analog tube compressors at the component level, allowing you to change the input tubes, output tubes, capacitors, and transformers for a noticeable change in sound and harmonic characteristics
Optical Compressor
An emulation of an optical compressor also modeled on the component level, this module allows you to change the capacitors, light source, light-source age, light-source sensitivity, attack, and release controls to provide much in the way of tweaking
FET Compressors
This module uses matching technology to model an authentic FET studio compressor sound and feel, using component-level emulation to allow fine-tuning of how the peak, attack, release, side-chain detection circuit, and look-head controls operate
