Hauppauge's WinTV-quadHD is a PCIe card designed to let you watch and/or record up to four TV channels at the same time on your Windows computer.

WinTV-quadHD features four ATSC and QAM tuners, and allows you to watch up to four channels in four separate windows, watch one while recording three in the background, or record up to all four. It also gives you the ability to pause a program while you're watching it. The card has a single tuner input, so you can connect either an ATSC antenna or QAM antenna, but a built-in antenna splitter allows you to watch/record four channels.

WinTV-quadHD fits in full height and half height PCs and includes both half height and full height brackets. It also comes with a remote control featuring a 3.3 ft IR receiver cable. When using the card and WinTV software, you can also use them from within Microsoft Windows Media Center.

ATSC over-the-air digital TV is supported in all formats up to the highest HD format. ATSC programs will display/record in MPEG-2, and recording will generally take up 5GB of storage space per hour of HD video.

(ATSC is free HD TV for the U.S. and Canada. Clear QAM is digital cable TV requiring a cable TV provider. Not all cable TV networks send clear QAM channels. Please check with your local cable operator for availability of clear QAM digital cable TV.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to. The card didn't come with any driver software, so I guessed I had to download the WinTV software for those. I guessed right--WinTV was able to detect the card and scan for channels. I got 13, but I think that's more dependent of the antenna than the card. (BTW, if you're going to get an antenna, get an omnidirectional one. I bought one with a remote control to rotate it, but it takes a lot of area to turn something like that.) Anyway, I'm using it with Plex instead of the WinTV software because I wanted to watch my TV and not my PC monitor. Works well with Plex, but you do have to define 2 2-channel inputs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product, works great with Windows7 Media Center. This quad ATSC-QAM tuner card works perfect. I bought it to replace a dual-tuner card in my desktop PC that I use as a media center PC (running Windows Media Center under Win7). After plugging the card into a free PCI-e slot and powering up the PC, Windows 7 did not recognize the card by itself. But installing the drivers downloaded from the Hauppauge website fixed that problem. After that, everything installed smoothly; the Hauppauge drivers were accepted by Win7 without protest, and WMC detected and installed the quad-card just fine. (after installing the card and drivers, you just run TV setup again from within WMC; it will find all four tuners) The signal sensitivity of the quad card is very good, even slightly better than my HD Homerun tuners. I also tested this quad tuner card under windows 10 (I have a dual-boot Win7/Win10 installation on my PC) using Hauppauge's WinTV 8.5 application, downloadable from their site (the installation key comes included with the card). THAT turned out to be a huge disappointment though. WinTV has a terrible user interface, and channel changes move at a snail's pace (where under WMC it changes really fast so that is not a hardware issue but a WinTV app issue). But what was worst, the WinTV app crashed on several occasions. It seems Hauppauge is a good hardware design company but software is not their thing. Still I give the card a 5-star review though, because I bought it to work with Windows7 WMC which it does perfect. I don't care about Hauppauge's WinTV ap, so that part is irrelevant to me. So if you buy this card, use it with Windows 7 running Windows Media Center. To my opinion, WMC is still the best OTA TV/DVR app that is out there, even after almost 10 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not perfect but I like it Everything except the remote worked immediately after installation. E-mailed the manufacturer and they pointed me at a software utility that installed with their TV software. I ran that once and the remote has worked since then. Issues: Slow to change channels and sometimes their tv app freezes if I try changing channels to quickly with the arrow button pressed down on the remote. No idea if it's a hardware and/or software issue. I don't have a tv and I usually just stream my tv content but occasionally I like see what's actually happening on the air waves and this works well enough for me. Aside from the monthly cost I've tried an internet tv streaming service from a major provider and it just doesn't work very well yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hauppauge WinTv-quadHD PCIe Card Wow what a great TV tuner card. Using with Plex for over the air recording with no issues on an old PC with Windows 10 64 bit. Haven't tried cable but I am sure it works extremely well. Many Thanks to the B&H team for fast shipment and great price points as always keep up the great work. I will be back and recommend B&H to all my friends and anyone reading the review. Being disable and not having to leave home for great products means a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good card and iffy software I downloaded the latest version of their software, WinTV 8, installed the card in my Windows 10 PC. The system came up ran without any problems. The software seems a bit flakey and locks up hard from time to time. Hopefully they will have updates that resolve issues. There are other apps available that I am going to try with this card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Know Why I Waited So Long -- Love it! I've thought about getting one of these for years, and am so glad I finally did it. I installed this card into a PC I re-purposed after using it for video editing for several years. The PC was set with a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit. 12 GB Ram. Downloaded and installed the Hauppague drivers. I installed and tested the free NextPVR software available online. It looks good and works well. It recognized all four tuners of the card. Any tuner and software will require set-up time to scan the channels, so plan for that. Once I scanned the channels in one tuner within NextPVR, it has an export/import feature for the channel/tuner settings, so I was able to copy the channel mapping from the first tuner to the other three tuners (avoiding the time it would take for all 4 tuners to scan channels). I successfully recorded 4 shows at the same time in NextPVR. Software is a bit clunky -- using the mouse on a menu item misses the button you click and instead chooses the one below it, which forces you to use the keyboard arrows and the enter key to prevent that frustration. I also tested Windows Media Center (WMC) and it works beautifully. Since the tuners had the channel scanning completed within NextPVR, channel set-up was not necessary within WMC. I'm not sure if WMC has a way to copy the tuner settings like NextPVR did or not. (It might be worth doing the set up with NextPVR just for that feature). I have successfully recorded using all 4 tuners simultaneously in WMC, as well. The WMC interface is quite a bit easier to use (why didn't they carry that over into Windows 10?), so we have chosen WMC as the software for our family, since it is the most intuitive for all users. I did not try the Hauppauge tuner software.
