General Features
Dependable 4K Video Recording
Sony's unique data controller works to ensure stable 4K video recording, with two-way communication to manage data bottlenecks on compatible cameras.
Burst Shooting
With its fast write speed, Sony XQD G Series memory cards are well-suited for continuous raw burst shooting with DSLR cameras. Capture up to 200 raw images in a single burst.
Capture More Decisive Moments
Sony XQD G series memory cards are designed to keep pace with the shooting speed of your camera and clear the memory buffer fast. You can capture more decisive moments and bursts of continuous shots, even with high-end DSLRs.
Robust Shell Structure
Sony's technologies increase shell strength to improve durability. Recessed contact pins also help protect them from damage, dust, and electrostatic shock for reliable performance, even in harsh environments.
Strength
Designed for professional use, this card offers improved strength over standard XQD cards. The additional rigidity is tested to 50 N of force, helping to prevent the risk of flexing and bending caused during transport and by repeated insertion into card slots.
Durability During Intense Use
Up to 5x more durable compared to standard XQD cards, Sony's G Series cards are tested to withstand drops of 16.4' / 5.0m, giving users confidence when handling or swapping cards, even under busy, hasty, or dark shooting circumstances.
Fast Data Transfers
Sony's XQD/SD card reader and USB adapters are a good match for G Series XQD memory cards. With transfers faster than CompactFlash cards, your data backups and work flow are more efficient.
Designed for Professionals
Sony's XQD memory cards are shockproof, magnet proof, anti-static, and resistant to breakage. They also offer fast performance, even in extreme temperatures, under exposure to intense UV light, and airport x-ray machines. Designed for prolonged professional use, Sony XQD cards are tested for dependable storage in a vast array of environments.
File Rescue Software
Sometimes things go wrong and data, such as photos and files, get damaged or lost. Sony's File Rescue is a powerful tool for recovering damaged or lost data that is simple enough for almost anyone to use. Applying an advanced algorithm, Sony's File Rescue realizes a higher rate of recovery for raw images, MOV files, and 4K XAVC-S video files captured on both Sony and Nikon devices. Sony's File Rescue is available as a free download to memory card customers.

How many photos can I take with this card (120GB)?
Asked by: Fel
It depends on your camera and resolution setting. Here are some guidelines to help you to this figure out; Most raw formats are uncompressed. This means that every raw file (at the same settings) has roughly the same size, no matter what’s in the photo. They are usually around 30MP each on a 20MP camera. So, if a raw file takes 30 MB of space, it can fit in the memory cards as follows: 32 gb = 1,092 photographs 64 gb = 2,184 photographs 128 gb = 4,368 photographs 256 gb = 8,732 photographs Jpg's; 32 gb = 4,700 photographs 64 gb = 9400 photographs 128 gb = 18,800 photographs 256 gb = 37,600 photographs

question

How many large uncompressed lossless raw D850 files will fit in 1 32gb card?
Asked by: Vladimir
There are different file sizes for Lossless vs. Uncompressed files, and there is a difference for 14 bit vs. 12 bit files. Uncompressed 14bit files are about 90 MB. 12bit Lossless about 50MB. Highly detailed images can take more space. Divide the number of MB's for the type of file you want to use into 32 GB for an answer. [A GB is 1000 MB's]. Accordingly, answers given here will vary all over the map.

Using XQD card on Nikon Z6. When Nikon upgrades camera software for use of CFexpress cards, will my XQD be obsolete for Z6?
Asked by: Maryann
No the XQD will not be obsolete. One of two things will happen. 1) update will allow the use of both formats in the slot and you can select which one in menu (likely)

question

Is Sony 256GB XQD G Series Memory Card compatible with Nikon D850?
Asked by: Rajender
Yes, it works great... The Sony 256GB XQD Series Memory Card is compatible with Nikon D850. I formated the XQD card in the Nikon D850 before using it and have shot 5,000 photos with the card so far with the card. I download the pictures from the card in the camera using the USB 3.0 cable that came with the camera to Nikon Transfer 2 application that runs in windows 10 on my desktop. Every picture was perfect with no errors or problems. I am going to buy another card for month long travel photo shoot instead of bringing my laptop and a 2 TB SSD external drive that weighs too much to travel with in Europe. Much of my shooting is at 9 frames per second with the D850 shooting wild life. The RAW picture files are about 100 megs each.
