Rain Design 10072 overview

  • 1Description

The space gray mStand Laptop Stand from Rain Design lifts up your notebook 6" (152mm) high, so you can have a better viewing experience. This stand is compatible with most MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and laptops that have under a 10.4" (265mm) depth. It positions the laptop's display to eye level, improving your posture. With a tilt design, it angles the computer's keyboard so you can still see and have access to the keys. To keep your desk organized, a cable outlet is on board. Furthermore, the mStand is constructed from a single piece of aluminum, which acts as a heat sink to cool your computer.

Provides an ergonomic solution for working on your laptop
Raises screen height approximately 6"
Raises screen to meet eye level and prevent slouching
Tilt of the stand brings screen closer and improves air flow around computer, preventing overheating
The aluminum panel cools the laptop because it acts as a heat sink
The one-piece design requires no assembly and provides stability

mStand Laptop Stand (Space Gray) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 137.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! The Perfect Laptop Stand I scoured the web for a simple functional laptop riser and stand and this is the only one that fits the bill for me. It lifts the laptop display to the perfect viewing level and I can store my keyboard under it to make more room on my desk. I found that an adjustable height feature is really not necessary. The viewing angle is important to me and this one has been designed with a good angle. And very importantly, my MacBook feels secure and stable on it unlike other stands which seem flimsy. Also, nice simple design and isn't a huge dust catcher like ones with a lot of parts. Who has time or wants to dust! I definitely recommend this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very helpful! I wish I had gotten this years ago! It really puts my neck and shoulders in a much better position. If you are just putting a laptop on a desk, you are straining muscles. Get this - it helps! The fact that it is not adjustable is not a problem for me. It raises the screen up much closer to your eye level and the tilt on the keyboard seems just right. Your arms/hands have to go up higher, which isn't ideal, but there's no getting around that with a laptop. The main thing is that it puts your head/neck/shoulders in a more comfortable position. This stand seems very sturdy and it's a good match to the macbooks in color and material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly I love it. Works like a gem. Well designed and quality construction. Not many features. If you need height or angle adjustment look elsewhere. I choose this for the clean look and sturdy construction. It's the kind of thing you buy once and use for the rest of your life. It can be a tinsy bit bouncy if you're typing on it. But faaaar less so than some competitors. The slim platform it rests on is excellent for tucking a keyboard or drawing tablet under for more desk space. The price imo is fair. You're paying for design and quality of materials and construction. I've bought two, and I would buy another if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE desk stand for your MacBook Was lucky enough to be introduced to this laptop stand at my previous job. Then moved to a new company and needed a stand to elevate my MacBook and use it as a second screen (flat screen monitor being the primary). Looked at a number of stands (online and in store), but kept coming back to the MStand. Perfect height and angle. Keeps cords out of the way. Gives me a little extra desk space below. Well built, well designed, solid piece of aluminum that looks great with my MacBook. As a solid piece, it has some heft to it, so not a portable stand. Stays on your desk and becomes a base. Lots of options out there. Buy this one and you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rain Design Laptop Stand I went through the reviews of many laptop stands before finally deciding on this one. I love the fact that it is one solid piece of aluminum and it mimics the design influence of iMac's and current Apple display stands. The tilt is wonderful as it allows the monitor to a bit closer to you as it is described. I was concerned whether or not I was going to have an issue with the laptop slipping with the rake on the platform but it does have a catch to hold the laptop from slipping down. Pros: Simple and yet sturdy and durable with an outstanding design to compliment the MBP it's supporting. Cons: Not really for travel as it is a solid piece of aluminum. Still... 5 out of 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Excellent!! I have always wanted to use the m stand at home but felt that it was too expensive and that it would be of limited use since it can't be adjusted. How wrong I was! The angle my laptop sits is perfect and matches with my external display height wise. I use it everyday for my coding work and it is excellent. I have no qualms about leaving my computer on it, and since it is being elevated, the stand has given me a small decrease in my laptop's idle temperature. The only thing I don't like about the stand is that I can't find anything bad to say about it. This is a superb product and I recommend it greatly!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and beautiful Just now took it out of the box and put my laptop on it. I had assumed I would need a keyboard and mouse, but it's actually quite steady! One reviewer had noted it shakes, and it does a little when I start typing vigorously, but with basic typing and use of the trackpad it feels quite sturdy enough that I'm not rushing out to get my keyboard anymore. It's simple and elegant, though I don't actually see much of it with my 15 MacBook on it. One downside is that it could be a little taller, or maybe my chair needs to be shorter, either way the stand is not adjustable so that's why I give it 4 not 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality! Overall a great stand. The quality is great! It's well built ! Strong base and matches my macbook pro. It has special rubber on it that protect your laptop from touching it directly which prevents scratching it. And it adjusts your angle of viewing at a great angle so you can view the screen easily and if you use an external keyboard and mouse you can use them with ease under the stand and makes your work station look very need and organized. Because of the angle of elevation, it helps the air ventilation which helps to keep the laptop cool. Only con I see is that you can't adjust the height of the stand (even tho I don't need to ) and it doesn't come with a rotating disk on the bottom.
