HornetTek HT-RAB237 Reviews

Everyone should have one of these... I hope they'll make a 3-4 or more HDD/SSD stack of these RAID cases!

This is THE one

I previously had a different enclosure with 2 1TB SSD drives in RAID 1, which I thought would safely store and protect all of my documents, records, and pictures. Apparently the enclosure died, which possibly failed the one drive completely and corrupted the other one. I won't name names, but I will never buy that brand again. I spent a lot of time reconstructing the remaining drive, and even more time looking for an enclosure. I had almost given up when I found the HornetTek at B&H. Built like a tank inside, with plenty of room for the old drive and a new replacement, it is very compact, sits vertically, looks great on my desk, and it has a FAN!!! Just what I need to keep those hot little SSDs nice and cool. The case is a breeze to open, and the drives sit securely. The fan is very quiet and only runs when needed. It was plug and play for both drives with my Mac Mini- I did not set them up as a RAID this time but back them up with Time Machine. I now have a dedicated drive for music and movies, and one for my precious documents and pictures. I do recommend using the additional power supply instead of relying on bus power, especially if you go with larger drives.

Great value

This enclosure is perfect for what I need. It's small, quiet, and super easy to set up. I installed two 2TB SSDs as a 4TB RAID 0 volume with no problems. Performance has been outstanding.
