This B&H Kit combines the HP Z640 Rackable Minitower Workstation with an HP NVIDIA Quadro M4000 graphics card and B&H installation services. This HP Z640 workstation is powered by dual 2.1 GHz Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors, each of which has eight cores, a max boost speed of 3.0 GHz, and 20MB of L3 cache. The internal hard drive in this computer stores up to 256GB of data and accesses that data using a PCIe connection. A Slim SuperMulti DVD Burner is also built into this system for reading and writing data stored on optical media. While the installed operating system is Windows 7 Pro (64-bit), a Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) license is also included and is available at no additional cost.

For delivering sharp, clear graphics, this workstation has been upgraded with a dedicated HP NVIDIA Quadro M4000 graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM. Video may be output to an external display using the four DisplayPort outputs at resolutions up to 4096 x 2160. Other external peripherals may be connected to this system using the eight USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Network connectivity may be achieved using the Gigabit Ethernet port and a USB keyboard and mouse is also included.

This HP Z640 system is equipped with 16GB (2 x 8GB) of 288-pin 2400 MHz PC4-19200 DDR4 RAM. This turnkey workstation also includes B&H professional installation; these services ensure your system and additional components are ready for use upon arrival.

    The Z640 Rackable Minitower Workstation from HP delivers powerful performance in a 4U rackable minitower form factor and is designed for professionals who require high reliability. The Z640 is well suited for tasks such as intensive graphics, 3D rendering, and multimedia, as well as science and engineering applications. The system is powered by dual 2.1 GHz Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors armed with eight cores on each CPU, for a total of 16 cores. There is also 20MB of Intel Smart Cache per processor, for a total of 40MB. These processors, cores, and cache will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously and provide significant performance gains when running multi-threaded tasks. If you need more power, the CPU can deliver extra performance by increasing the clock speed up to 3.0 GHz utilizing Intel's Turbo Boost 2.0 technology.

    The 16GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 ECC registered RAM allows the computer run multiple applications simultaneously and also to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. The current memory configuration is two 8GB modules occupying two of the eight DIMM slots. If you need to upgrade, this system supports up to 16GB per slot when using 2133 MHz ECC registered RAM, 32GB per slot when using 2133 MHz Load Reduced (LR) RAM, or 32GB per slot when using 2400 MHz ECC registered RAM. As this RAM features ECC technology, it is able to help detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption. This RAM is also registered and registered memory modules, also known as buffered memory modules, place less electrical loads on the memory controller and allow single systems to remain stable with more memory modules than they would have otherwise.

    For long-term storage of your files, this system is equipped with a 256GB Z Turbo Drive G2 PCIe SSD, which allows quick access to your data. While the SSD may not have the larger storage capacity of a traditional spinning disk, it contains no moving parts, which helps it to be more resistant against bumps, drops, and other kinds of damage. SSDs also receive less wear and tear than traditional hard drives, as there are no read and write heads. Additionally, as this SSD connects via PCIe as compared to SATA, it is able to operate with even greater data transfer speeds. It provides sequential reads up to 2,150 MB/s and sequential writes up to 1,260 MB/s.

    If you want to add external storage drives or other peripherals, the Z640 features 8 x USB 3.0 ports and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. For users who wish to add additional components to the drive bays, the Z640 features two internal 3.5" drive bays and two external 5.25" drive bays. No integrated or dedicated graphics controllers are included with this system, allowing the user to select a dedicated graphics card of their choice. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Realtek HD ALC221 outputs high definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.

    The Z640 Rackable Minitower Workstation operates using a 925W power supply that runs using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz. Included is a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, a power cord, and restore/recovery media. While the installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), a Windows 10 Professional (64-bit) license is included.
