TP-Link AV2000 overview

  • 1Description

With support for the HomePlug AV2 standard, the adapters found in the AV2000 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit from TP-Link are capable of supporting data transfer rates of up to 2000 Mbps. In addition to enhanced data transfer rates, these TP-Link powerline adapters support 2x2 MIMO technology which supports multiple data pathways giving multiple devices each their own direct connection to the network. On each of these HomePlug AV2 compliant adapters you will find two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a single power socket. With an integrated power socket built right in to the adapter you no longer have to worry about losing an outlet to the network adapter. Setup and configuration is simple as these plug-and-play adapters each feature a dedicated pairing button allowing you to get your network up and running in no time.

Enhanced Long Distance Performance
Combine 2x2 MIMO and Beamforming technologies and you get the benefit of improved coverage throughout your home or office, particularly for those previously hard to reach outlets.
Wiring Up with Gigabit Speeds
Connect to Gigabit speeds for your smart TVs, game consoles, computers and network attached devices. Just use an Ethernet cable to attach your devices to the Powerline adapter to get started.
Plug, Pair, and Play
1. First, connect your TL-PA9020P to the router
2. Then, plug in another one wherever you need extra coverage
3. Finally, press the "Pair" button on each adapter
No Power Outlet is Going Waste
The integrated power socket means that you can still get power from the outlet for your other devices. Simply plug your device into the integrated socket the same way you would with a normal outlet. The built-in noise filter also helps to eliminate electrical signal noise that might otherwise affect powerline transmission performance.

    TP-Link AV2000 reviews

AV2000 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I replaced another brand 400MB adapters with these two adapters. My internet is 150 down 150 up. I installed these adapters - one to the router and one upstairs to a TP-Link Switch. Then connected PS/4, Airport Express and AppleTV to Link via Cat 6. The best I could get on on the PS/4 with the 400MB adapters was 20 down 4 up. I tested the PS/4 and am now getting 65 down/75 up. On top of that, the other brand adapters still work great downstairs to stream AppleTV one TV and create a bridge network on another Airport Expres.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than my wi-fi extender I'm not techie, so I hope I'm correct in my terminology. I have an upstairs bonus room where I work on a laptop. I had lousy wi-fi reception up there so bought a "wi-fi" extender and it helped some. There were times it was worthless connection and other times still had to deal with buffering. Did some google internet research about slow internet away from router and ran across these that I guess send my DSL signal from the router into the electrical system of the home. Plugged another unit upstairs and connected my laptop to it with ethernet connection and BOOM - Great internet speed at all times! I am so thrilled to be able to go upstairs and watch a video or any other data grabbing service and have the laptop up to speed. It's wonderful and a great solution for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pathetic product, Great B&H service I did some initial research and I thought this was a good kit to use to set up a powerline adapter setup in my home. My cable modem and my apple timecapsule wireless router are located in my family room where we have a large state of art flat screen TV. Our master bedroom is located at some distance and when using a apple airport express wireless extender for our other large smart TV in the master bedroom, sometimes our connectivity is poor and it can be challenging to stream netflix or hulu plus. After researching the topic I figured the solution was to use a wired connection using a power line adapter kit. And I am tech savvy - not a genius - but certainly not an ignoramus. So I bought this at B&H. The price was the best available at that time. The delivery of the product was timely. The whole process was flawless. No complaints against B&H. They are a class act. My problem is with the product itself. I followed all instructions to the T. Set everything up as recommended. All connections were established. All lights were green at set up. We setup our tv in the master bedroom to work with the wired connection and started streaming netflix on the wired connection. Everything worked great for a few minutes and then - NOTHING. The connection just drops for no reason. We have only one panel. All our electrical outlets are on one panel. for some unknown reason, the connection disappears and then reappears again after several minutes. This is absolutely no way to stream content from netflix etc. My apple time capsule and airport express wireless extender worked much better in the first place!!! I just wasted money on this product!!!!! My overall comments - B&H is a solid and competent vendor - and my experience with them in the past has been exemplary as well. The product is essentially useless and there is absolutely no reason for connectivity to drop for several minutes and then come back on - how do you stream a movie that way - it's pathetic and a waste of money!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Alternative to WIFI The TP-Link AV2000 performs as advertised. Wife is happy as a lark. No more wifi disconnects to worry about and zero freeze ups while she is watching her dramas. Setup was easy, easy, easy. Just plug in to wall outlet, connect one to the router and connect another one to a wall outlet close to the device you want connected to. Dual port made it great for my AV setup as I only needed one TP-Link device to support both my TV and AV receiver. A little expensive, but well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works fast, compatible with Amplifi I use this powerline ethernet extender to add a Yamaha receiver to my Amplifi mesh network. I had an older TP-Link powerline extender that was not recognized by the Amplifi network. The installation of the AV2000 kit was ridiculously easy. Plugged in each unit, pressed the button on each unit....nothing else. It was immediately recognized by the Amplifi network and works flawlessly and fast. No regrets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great. Wireless in my detached garage was poor so I bought these based on online reviews. Plugged them in, connected ethernet cables and hit pair buttons and they connected without issue. These doubled my internet download speed and haven't dropped the connection once. I like 'em. Also: B&H was great. Fast shipping and good communications. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice improvement over the older generation of powerline! I used these the replace an older generation of av500 units by netgear. The signal is much stronger (it went from intermediate to strong) and the speed is 3-4x. The technology has definitely improved over the years. If you are looking for a powerline kit, I would highly recommend these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good by not close to rating in speed TP link is build well, but does not live up to its speed rating. In speed test I have done with my 150 mbs internet connection; the best I can reach is 100mbs if I do not connect any other device into the pass through. Once I connect a device to the power outlet, the data rate falls to 60 MBS max and becomes unreliable. I have an adapter connected to my R8000 router and the other connected in my upstairs bedroom. I am running gigabit Ethernet through the main floor and basement. I can get up to 200 MBS from the 1 gigbit Ethernet or AC wireless. Only works well if nothing is plugged into the pass through outlet. I was hoping for at least 150 mbs as the TP link utility indicates my available speed is through the wiring in 300 MBS. My netflicks and media streaming work great so I have enough bandwidth to keep the devices. Otherwise I would have returned them. Speed rating is not accurate but a marketing tool. Like the MPG on your car. Good luck in meeting this. BTW, house wiring is romex cable and built 20 years ago.
