I happen to own a mint condition pioneer CTW 606DR cassette player,and recorder. Although very old I have taken special care of it because it converts analog to digital automatically. My tapes are old, and many are analog and I will have to run them in the 606 before I run them in the 300CP that has a USB into my computer so from there into a flash drive because new cars have no CDs just FDs & BT. Let me know if the300CP does this also. Thanks JS

So far working as it should. The buttons are kind of cheap but they all work. These unit are hard to find and I am glad to have found one. I am pleased so far and B&H are great to order from.

Was glad to see this deck back in stock! I needed one to replace an older one that has gone bad. B&H was great to keep me informed as to the progress of having it back in stock. Shipping was amazing quick. This is the first stereo type item I have ordered from them. I have purchased several camera items from them. My go to place if they have what I need. Their price for the deck was as low as I found on my other shopping sites.

As expected, the Marantz played many of my older tapes but could not play some decades-old tapes. Also, many of the older tapes played but the sound was poor.

Great tape deck to play my old tapes. Like that the deck plays new and old format cassette tapes. Would recommend the cassette fan buy this tape deck.

My 30+ year old Sony tape deck died and I wanted something both reliable and economical on which to play my old cassettes. This fits the bill. As another review noted, it's hardly Professional , but it doesn' t need to be for what I wanted. B&H provided speedy and great service.

This is a great Dual Cassette Deck, and it plays all of my old and new cassette tapes. It also came with mounting brackets I was able to mount the unit to my rack mount in my recording studio great purchase.

Will it record from a turn table?

The Marantz Professional PMD-300CP will only accept input from line level devices. If you are using a standard turntable without a built in preamp, you will need to purchase a phono preamp to connect to the cassette recorders input. The Rolls VP29 is a popular choice.

High speed dubbing is only available from deck to deck recording. To record to computer you are only able to playback normal speed.

Would the head alignment screws be accessible if I drilled holes on the cassette enclosure cover?

how fast can i transfer to wav format?

In my experience, the conversion from analog to digital is real-time, so a 3:00 tune will take 3:00 to transfer. The digital file is an MP3. I used this machine to preserve cassette recordings (which are by definition low-quality). It works great for that.

Hi, I'll be glad to assist! The Marantz PMD-300CP has RCA jacks in the back of the unit to connect it to a receiver or speakers, and a USB port to connect it to the computer for digitizing your tapes.

I want to take audio tapes of my husband's sermons, and worship services that were taped... edit them while recording/transferring to a blank tape by cutting out blank spots in the service etc.. Then I want to transfer to an external hard drive to preserve them. After I am done doing that I want to download them so my children, grand children, family members will be able to listen to him preach long after he is gone. I am not sure about putting them to MP3, can this be an option to the external hard drive?

The Marantz PMD-300CP is designed to be connected directly to a computer for tape archiving. The unit does not support direct hard drive connection. Recording software is offered for download free from the Marantz website and the unit is compatible with virtually any software that supports audio recording. Once recorded to software, can be edited and exported as uncompressed WAV files or MP3.

In 60 minutes. The deck allows you to play cassettes at normal speed and output the audio via a USB interface. You will need a computer that has the appropriate drivers installed and software that can capture the audio. I use a MacBook Air from 2012 and the included QuickTime app.
