The Acer 15.6" Predator 15 Notebook is tailored for portable gaming and everyday use by utilizing the performance of an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM. The quad-core processor with 6MB of L3 cache runs at a base speed of 2.6 GHz and can operate at speeds of up to 3.6 GHz when handling demanding applications. For managing multiple applications simultaneously, 16GB of DDR4 memory is on board. Acer has outfitted the Predator 15 with a 1TB hard drive for storing vast amounts of data as well as a 512GB SSD that delivers data faster than the HDD. Windows 10 Home is installed on the SSD. There is also a swappable bay that can house the included Blu-ray burner or the Predator FrostCore fan, which injects extra cooling for keeping heat levels down and performance up.

For accurate colors and sharp visuals, the 15.6" display sports an IPS panel and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Expanding the on-screen workspace can be accomplished by connecting an optional monitor to the notebook's DisplayPort, HDMI port, or Thunderbolt 3 port, which brings Thunderbolt technology through a USB Type-C interface at 40 Gbps speeds. To complete the multimedia experience, an onboard subwoofer and speakers surround you in sounds. Additionally, you can connect your headphones to the audio jack with built-in amplifier or wirelessly with Bluetooth 4.1 so you can enjoy music in private.

Acer has equipped the Predator 15 notebook with additional features to take your gaming experience higher. With Killer DoubleShot Pro, the Predator 15 notebook joins the Gigabit Ethernet port and 802.11ac 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi to double your Internet bandwidth for online gaming competitions. If you want to add a gaming mouse and controller, four USB 3.0 ports are available and one of these ports supports power-off charging. Other notable integrated features include an SD card reader, a webcam, a microphone, and an illuminated programmable keyboard.

Predator 15 Features

This software program offers advanced customization options for gaming features such as keyboard macro profiles for your favorite games and adjustable lighting configurations.
Predator FrostCore
The included Predator FrostCore fan injects extra cooling that helps keep heat down and performance up. FrostCore is custom-made by Cooler Master and fits in the optical drive bay so you can easily swap it in for intense gaming sessions.
Killer DoubleShot Pro
With Killer DoubleShot Pro, you choose which applications get to use the networking bandwidth. Even more importantly, you can use your wired and wireless connections simultaneously.
Predator SoundPound 2.1
Predator SoundPound 2.1 provides two speakers and a subwoofer, while Dolby Audio surround sound helps you hear enemies before you see them. In addition, the headphone amplifier (600Ω) enhances the sounds for your headphones or headsets
Predator ProZone Keyboard
The Predator ProZone keyboard features four customizable backlight zones and programmable macro profiles you can share with your team. A number pad and dedicated macro buttons give every gamer the control they deserve.
Predator DustDefender
Predator DustDefender helps keep the Predator 15 notebook nice and clean by alternating the airflow, which helps stop dust from building up.

Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
