Read over two million books from the Amazon store using the 2016 Kindle 6" eReader from Amazon. The Kindle sports a 6" display with E-Ink Pearl technology that provides a glare-free reading experience and reads like real paper. Amazon's hand-built fonts create crisp text similar to physical books. The 16-bit gray scale screen has a pixel density of 167 and touch capabilities. When fully charged, the onboard battery provides up to four weeks of power – based on 30 minutes of reading per day with wireless off. You can charge this battery in approximately 4 hours from a computer or USB power adapter (not included) via the included USB cable.
Amazon has armed this Kindle with 4GB of storage, which stores thousands of books, and provided free cloud storage for all Amazon content. Downloading content is accomplished wirelessly via 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi technology without requiring a computer. In addition to supporting Amazon content, the kindle can display PDFs, Microsoft Word documents, JPEGs, and other file types by using the Send to Kindle feature. You can also borrow reading material from a public library.
The 2016 Kindle is 11% thinner and 16% lighter than the previous version, making it easier to hold in one hand. It comes with special offers that are displayed on the lockscreen along with the bottom of the home screen and library while not in use. Aside from these advertisements, the Kindle delivers several other useful features that make reading more fulfilling, such as a dictionary – if you don't know a word, just tap on it and a definition will appear. There's also a Time-to-Read function that estimates how much time it will take to finish a chapter or book. Moreover, you can adjust the font size, line spacing, margin, and more to provide a more comfortable reading experience.
